The day after the 44th President of the United States takes office should be a day of reflection.
Throughout history we note the passing of many great nations and empires.
Gone are the Pharaohs, Mayans, Greeks, Romans, and the Shoguns. The once great Ottoman Empire pressed unheard of expansion across continents, followed by British empire whose Navy supported global colonization, and the Russian Empire of the Czars, followed by the once great Soviet Empire.
They are all gone.
The United States of America with a new leader, who has unheard of support will begin a new chapter in the history books, whether we recover or continue into the cold darkness of the abyss does not lie with one man alone.
Advice for Barrack Obama, "all glory is fleeting" and advice for a nation get off your butts, stop looking for a hand out, and get back to work.
Trivia - Grover Cleveland served as president 22 and 24, which means that Barack Obama is the 43rd person to hold this high office.
