CMPD's Ken Miller Opts Out

It was pretty much a done deal last week but sometime on Monday morning CMPD's Deputy Chief Ken Miller will officially announce that he will leave Charlotte to become the new Chief of Police in Greensboro.

This will again give Charlotte's Chief Monroe a chance to fill the void with one of his minions or will he again give in to the increasing media scrutiny and fill the position with someone of experience and talent.

You can read the Charlotte Observer story here and the Greensboro Record story here.

Can I be the first to say, "Congratulations, Vicki."

Well, everyone knows Vicki is next in line for DC, but she CANNOT handle Ken's job.

So, from what I hear, I predict Vicki will make DC to be able to retire on the DC's salary, but will stay in her present glorified secretarial position, and 'ole rodney will promote someone else to take Miller's place.

I would like to be the first to say Farewell to a real "ass-hole"..that didn't mind stepping on anyone to get where he wanted to be...take the knife with you Ken!

You are 100% correct.

KM was known as a butt kisser with an agenda for promoting himself and he didn't care who he threw under the bus or climbed over to achieve his own self promotion.

Typical "small" man Napoleon complex, much like rodney.

I'm also told he thought himself to be "better" than just about anyone, a real snob and social climber....a poser.

Good Luck, Greensboro!

And good luck to CMPD, they will need it with his replacement!

Name someone he stepped on. You'll enjoy the benefits of his efforts for years to come in your technology, crime strategies and facilities. Enjoy Providence, Eastway and Steele Creek offices coming soon and many others beyond that. No one else pushed for those for you or got it done.
