If you looked at the Charlotte Observer on line edition this afternoon for breaking news you more than likely missed another one of Chief Monroe's bodies.
Buried under the headline "Police: Man was shot after he produced a handgun" a story detailing the shooting by CMPD officers is a link to this story "Man Dies in West Charlotte Shooting". Look closely yep, right there at the very bottom of the box detailing the police shooting.
It's pretty bad in Charlotte when you get gunned down and don't even make the tiniest of headlines.
The story below will no doubt be buried in the back pages of Saturday's Observer.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in the parking lot of Glenwood Point Apartments, in the 3600 block of Hashem Drive in west Charlotte.
Police received a report about 11:28 a.m. that someone had been shot multiple times, and officers from the Metro division responded.
Officers located the victim lying on the ground on a walkway, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Medics pronounced the man dead on the scene at 11:40 a.m.
Police say witnesses told them the victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of a Jeep Grand Cherokee when a man approached and shot him in the chest. The victim managed to exit the vehicle and collapsed on the walkway.
The victim and suspect knew each other, said police, who are searching for a known suspect.
The suspect was last seen leaving the area in a burgundy Buick, heading toward Glenwood Avenue. But police did not offer a description of the suspect.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective. Detective Burkard is the lead detective assigned to the case. Crime Stoppers can also be notified at 704-334-1600.
