CMPD Weekend Shootings 2 Dead 2 Wounded Are Not Random Acts of Violence

Another bloody weekend in Charlotte. CMPD homicide detectives are working two murders this weekend. Details are sparse and CMPD talking heads have had little to say except that neither shooting was a random act of violence.

I guess that's important, and I should feel safer since random violence could strike anywhere and the targets of random acts of violence could be someone other than a minority.

But somehow the fact that these murders were not "random acts of violence" doesn't make me feel any safer.

The Observer's limited coverage of Saturday's murders is here and here.

Do they ever report a crime as a random act of violence? just asking.

the murder of the 24 year old sounds an awful lot like this one in Charlotte, TN

not saying there is a connection, but it is odd.
