The Best Photo from the 81st. Mallard Creek Barbecue
George Deaton, 100 yrs., sits watching foot traffic pass by during the 81st Mallard Creek Barbecue Thursday. Deaton started coming to the barbecue in 1941 and has been there ever since. He used to help cook the barbecue when volunteers dug ditches and laid racks across them to cook the meat. In another month, Deaton will celebrate his 101st birthday.
