Rob Tufano's Email Regarding CMPD Officers Injured in Chase

Subject: Officer Grubb and Trietley

Officer Richard E. Grubb, assigned to the Hickory Grove Division and Officer Keith R. Trietley, assigned to the North Tryon Division were involved in separate motor vehicle wrecks this afternoon. The two officers were in the process of trying to apprehend a suspect who earlier assaulted one of the officers when the suspect intentionally rammed his truck into their cruisers.

Officer Grubb was transported to CMC Main after sustaining a broken tail bone.

Officer Trietley was also transported to CMC and sustained two broken arms and a broken leg.

The suspect in this case has been identified as Francisco Rodriguez, DOB: 10/07/1963. He has been charged with DWI and detectives are seeking warrants on multiple assaults charge and felony speeding to elude through the Magistrates Office.

There is no way he would have survived in a Chevy Impala. That Crown Vic went head to head with a dual wheeled extended cab big ass pickup and the guy didn't die.
