Former CMPD Officer Marcus Jackson Costs Heading Towards 1 Million

According to the "Local Paper" The city of Charlotte has agreed to pay $350,000 to a 17-year-old victim of Marcus Jackson who recently plead guilty to sexually assaulted several women while on duty.

This is the second settlement involving former officer Marcus Jackson. In October, the city agreed to pay $225,000 to another woman victim and her boyfriend who were assaulted by Jackson.

Jackson pleaded guilty in December to sexually assaulting six women and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Legal fees, court costs, as well as expected settlements to other victims will clearly push the Marcus Jackson fiasco well past one Million dollars.

Attorneys for the victims have said the city’s background checks before Jackson was hired missed red flags, including a 2005 restraining order that accused Jackson of hitting and slapping his girlfriend.

Cedar Posts has found documentation the hints Marcus Jackson's personnel file was cleaned up before it was presented to the City's Civil Service board. Chief Monroe's long time number two, Raymond Tarasovic resigned in part due to the handling of the Marcus Jackson event.

On January 25, 2011 Jackson was transferred to the North Carolina Department of Corrections Pamlico facility at Bayboro, NC.

But really, wasn't rodney the one that mishandled and lied about this case all along?

Let's just hope Jackson moves elsewhere when he gets out. Do you think he will get any rehabilitation while in the big house? Nawww....I don't either.

Maybe he and rodney can go together when he is released?

And I'm sure he'll be "saved" while in though, so maybe Foster will help him readjust to life on the "outside"!

What a travesty!

And the taxpayers get screwed in more ways than one, once again!

Cedar thank you for the detailed coverage as the local paper skips over the where and when this POS may be turned loose on society again•

Way to go eight ball. It wasn't enough my tax dollars paid for your mama to birth you, paid for your free lunch at school, paid for your education, set you up in free housing, and gave you a job, this is how you go and re-pay all that.
