Another Sunday Murder In Charlotte



CMPD is reporting the murder of an unnamed young black male. Officers in the department's North Division responded to a 911 call around 2:30. Officers located the victim apparently shot on Commercial Avenue. CMPD reports that the victim and the suspect are known to each other. The name of the victim will be released as soon as CMPD completes the family notification process.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a man was fatally shot today as he was attending a motorcycle club meeting near Eastway Drive and The Plaza.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim pending notification of his family. But police say they believe the victim and suspect knew each other.

The shooting occurred in the 1100 block of Commercial Avenue before 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a news release, the victim was in a motorcycle club meeting when the suspect entered the building firing his weapon at the victim, striking the man.

Do you know what the murder rate for the year is yet?

CMPD will not be honest about any crime information, but I think you have been counting murders.

of course not! he's almost never there, and this time he's probably having drinks on our dime w/his buddy Eric Holder in D.C.

We are all intelligent people, well at least those of us who can read between the lines. This is why we are no longer able to get the crime stats, so that CMPD can fix the true numbers.

The number is somewhere around 53 to 54 this year....
