I say leave the F#$%@&* place! That's what I did years ago when I saw the rapid decline coming. Haven't regretted a day since. There are many other agencies that are hungry for experienced officers and have actual leadership in place. They make CMPD "leadership" look like Girl Scout troop leaders. This used to be such a great place to work. Never have I seen such decline in morale and people so unhappy. But hey.. this is what management wants Trust me, no one at city hall wants to see you go 30 years. If they can get you so unhappy that you go to another department they will. This way they don’t have to pay your supplement, and for us hired before 2008 they won’t have to pay your insurance. They hope to replace a $70k/yr employee with a $42k/yr employee and get the same amount of work.

5% hazard pay is peanuts. The city should be ashamed. Other cities like Detroit and ATL are getting 4x that in hazard pay.
They did 5% pay bump becuase most of the PD has less than 4 years exp. That is like..2k a year before taxes. Its better than nothing, but not worth getting your family sick and paying for their medical care.
