Its a Great Day at CMPD!

If you haven't seen the new "CMPD Serves" presentation and cue cards, well here you go. Seriously I could not have made this up myself:

According to WFAE:

CMPD is calling the program its “CommUNITY Collaboration customer experience training and curriculum.”

It cost the city about $60,000.00.

CMPD had about 515,000 encounters with citizens last year. Only a small fraction involved violent crime.

The idea behind the training is to try and ensure that ordinary encounters don’t become confrontational. The private company responsible for the training says part of the training will help officers deal with what they call “empathy fatigue” — in that officers might go from something serious like an assault to something more minor, like stolen property.

The "bullet" points below are awesome:

Hi there I'm Officer Friendly I'd really appercaite it if you'd stop calling me Pig or  F-12 now how may I be of service to you Mr. Stupid MoFo?

"Use the resident's name at least twice during the interaction. "

Something like ok Mr. Stupid MoFo I'm going to "circle back" to you in a few days. Is it OK that I call you stupid or do you prefer and more formal Mr. MoFo?

Look for an opportunity to make an emotional connection:

"I noticed your pretend paper tag expired last year" now I know how it is, the stolen plate on my personal car is expired as well.  Err actually that's a lie I've never had an expired or pretend plate I'm just staying that so we can have an emotional connection. "

The last one is the best:

Close with, "Again, my name is triple X, thank you for helping to keep Charlotte an amazing community, Mr. Smith".

Leave a positive impression that will earn you a genuine thank you.

"On a positive note you'll likely be out of jail without bail before my night is over"

Oh and don't forget to give your customer their free sandwich.

The entire WFAE story on this brilliance is here

I'm going to be open minded about this idea.

OK now that I've done that, this is the most F&*%$#@ stupid idea I've ever seen. This can't be real. The only way that you could make this shit funnier is the video of the look of dismay on the faces of thugs and hoodrats while telling them all this bullshit.

Chief will all due respect, actually you're not due any, I'm just not even going to suck up, are you out of your mind? A solid 75% of the people anyone of us comes into contract with on a daily basis are freaking unhinged, unmannered, uneducated, unlawful.

Plus if we aren't doing traffic stops, if we are just ignoring low level drug offenses and only responding to calls for service how many times a day could you even expect to talk like a clown to these folks?

How much did they pay a 'consultant' to force this onto the department? Same consultants that have flooded corporate America with wokeness training.

Tell them what is going to happen next...well, I understand your car was broken into-- again. We know approximately who did this, and he will be arrested (for something) very soon. he will be released the same day, and need to come back for more money. So he is going to break into your home next time. This cycle will repeat until this neighborhood is full of renters who have zero option of where to live. Your school is going to turn into an experiment of feral children supported by government handouts. You will continue to see me (A LOT). Until I finally get a job somewhere else, then you will see a newbie, who knows no better, and the cycle will repeat.

Good luck Charlotte. Hope you like what you are getting for your tax dollars!

I'm gonna say it - there are a lot of CMPD that needs some sort of social skill development course. Not everyone hates you but if my experience as a white female is any indication I can see why people of color hate cops.

I was on 4th street a few weeks ago there was an accident and it happened right in front of me. I moved my car to a parking lot. Medic and Fire arrived and 3 maybe more CMPD. I gave them time to look things over, medic removed the injured passenger and left and then I approached two of them. I identified myself and explained I was a witness.

What I got in return was shocking. Not only did they scream at me, threatened me with arrest and absolutely refused to listen to reason.

I'm 40 white dressed in hospital scrubs with a hospital ID around my neck and this is how I was treated, so I can't imagine how they would have treated a person of color with no clue as to job or social standing.

Like I said I was shocked and stunned.

So basically what you're saying is, they treated you like every other government worker treats their constituents. For better or worse. Tax office, DMV, schools, same story. When they are on the govt teet, they tend to have that attitude. The difference to me is, the police are in danger, have nobody- repeat- nobody who has their back, and for the past few years, their jobs have become a minefield of danger. If you only had a cellphone out, it would have been every call, every time for them.

Call it what you like JJ's sensitivity training is the new wave of police work.

They don't trust us to do even the most basic form of police work. We might as well be zoo keepers. Don't make eye contact and speak in a hushed tone.

15:00 I call bs on your story. I’d love to hear the officers side of how it really went down

I’m not gonna empathize with murderers and rapists.

You need to spend the money on how to write an accurate police report outlining crimes that have been committed. How to get rid of bad cops quickly. How to promote good ones. These things would solve 90% of the problems. After that, grammar lessons are urgently needed. Try to read some of the reports that are submitted and tell me otherwise.

Well, the first lesson in a CFA that makes their service possible is...wait for it....more than full staffing. You have people cleaning the dining room, helping to expedite the line, getting refills for people, directing traffic, Lord knows what in the back of house. You cannot provide exceptional service when you are short hundreds of staff. You can' recruit people to a dangerous role if you demonize their actions in the line of work.

Find out who got paid for this silliness, and you'll find JJ on vacay with them.

Yall expect too much from CMPD. They don't have the best people becuase of the pay and brass. Most of the brass got their pants down with someone around here.

I got me a framed pic of JJ kneeling and chucking up the black power fist. Which pillar does that cover?

Every Chief leaves their own legacy with the PD and they are forever remembered for it. Va-JJ will forever be known as the Chief who caved to the libtards for the sake of his career and brought us Chick-Fil-A. So sad...
I'm glad I left CMPD but still am thinking about all my brothers and sisters who are subjected to this shit show. Like others have said previously, if you have no significant skin in the game get out! You wont regret it as it is only going to get worse.

Forget reparations I want free Chicken Nuggets and dipping sauce from Chick-Fil-A and I want JJ to personally bring it to my crib!

Anonymous said...

Props to JJ for trying something new.

Now that we got that out of the way.

How about getting the NC GA to make leaving a firearm in your car a felony?

Pledge fund?

The CFD will still swap Chiefs with you. No questions asked. We are customer service and we change uniforms about every other week anyway so we will take JJ.

I <3 CMPD

shit is funny

Anonymous said...

I thought there was a shortage of Chick-Fil-A sauce?

Anonymous said...

Apparently it's bad to call the new training the Chick Fil A training. Even though JJ said he got the idea and the Training group from them. I get a headache just talking with people within the department anymore. The cognitive dissonance is bewildering.

lol. Someone threatening to take someone to jail at an accident scene? Nobody wants to go down there and deal with that epicenter of stupidity so I'm going to call "things that never happened"
