And The Chicken Bone Sealed It - Issac Bailey Davidson Class Clown

Issac Bailey is a clown and he apparently hoped that writing this sort of BS on the heels on the Buffalo shooting would get him attention so l'll let him have his 15 minutes of fame. This story never got a lot of traction in fact even Tucker didn't bother to respond.

And The chicken bone sealed it.

Or at least drove home the point that the long tentacles of white supremacy and anti-black racism, which stretch back to before the founding of this country, showed up in the form of a chicken bone this past week in my quiet little community.

A young white guy in a truck pointed one towards my wife as he passed her while she was returning from the mailbox. He may as well have thrown a watermelon rind at her instead, the racist stereotypical symbolism was so on point.

This was just a couple of days after an 18-year-old white supremacist set out to kill black people, apparently inspired by the racist conspiracy theory that powerful Jews and others are out to replace white people with more compliant black and brown people – the kind of conspiracy he may not have gotten directly from Fox News but is a prominent feature of that network’s highest rated show, Tucker Carlson.

That 18-year-old white man, dressed in tactical gear, traveled for several hours to reach a supermarket in a predominantly black area in Buffalo, N.Y. He opened fire with an assault-style rifle he had been able to purchase despite “joking” a year earlier at school he wanted to commit a murder-suicide. He killed 13 people.

That was only a few days after the athletic director at my daughter’s high school in South Carolina resigned after calling a rowdy young black student the n-word – the same word written on the gun used to kill those 13 people at that Buffalo supermarket.

The Buffalo shooting forced me to think about what Dylann Roof did in a black church in Charleston, where he massacred nine people even after they welcomed and prayed for and with him.

I thought better, though, of calling a friend of mine who lost a sister during Roof’s rampage. I didn’t want to reopen wounds I know hadn’t healed since that night in June 2016. Roof, too, had become convinced that white people were in grave danger from black and brown people and decided to take matters into his own hands.

Though Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty of murder during a post-George Floyd protest, he had also taken things into his own hands, convinced he should carry a gun into the middle of unrest he had no reason injecting himself into. They aren’t lone wolfs.

Their actions are echoes of a darker part of American history too many of us have forgotten, ignored or unwisely believe can’t be reignited in the 21st century.

The rhetoric from popular conservative talk show hosts, like Carlson, who repeatedly ask why nothing is being done to stop the “replacement” of white people, and from Republicans like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott who complained that undocumented immigrant babies under the care of the federal government were receiving baby formula – you, know, to keep them alive and well nourished like a compassionate “pro-life” country should – helps to fan the flames.

Issac Bailey is a professor of public policy at Davidson College

Cedar's Take:

Funny how the only "Mass Shootings" that get attention are the one's where some white nut case shoots some African Americans. Suddenly anyone who watched Tucker Carlson last night is a racist and a white supremist.

If we are to judge people by their character and not the color of their skin then what's up with labeling this nut case a "white" supremist. Why not just mass shooter or deranged psychopaths? Why was Kyle Rittenhouse labeled a racist white supremist?

Domestic terrorism is a threat to democracy according Joe Biden "MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic" and if you read between the lines he's saying "white" supremists.

26 African Americans the majority of which are males under 25, are killed each day in our country. On a typical day every one of these homicides is at the hands of another black male under the age of 25.

This is three times the number of white Americans killed (8) by guns each day. Yet the outrage is on one depraved sole who it turned out doesn't have a sane thought in his head and likely doesn't understand how an alarm clock works but is a white supremist or MAGA republican.

And so now a chicken bone is their weapon of choice?

So why did you post it?

My guess on the reason for this post is because this man is a professor at Davidson College and influencing the minds of his students. Possibly your children.

Not mine…. And this isn’t any kind of news. This is going on across the country at liberal institutions. I’m actually surprised something like this hasn’t come from this school before now.

Davidson is one of the most egregious Leftist horrible colleges in the country. Think Braxton Winston…. And Anthony Foxx…

Didn’t some kind of NBA player who is best friends with Obama graduate from Davidson too?

It is important to see the kind of garbage coming out of Davidson ditto at Duke and Wake Forest for what it is. You almost expected this from Chapel Hill or Virginia but the sewage seeps into all forms of "higher education".

Bailey like Braxton Winston have never known real jobs.

My father worked for Duke Energy he was a lineman. Then in the late 90's after 25 years they gave his job to Floyd S. Pike. So he like many hired on with Pike, the difference wasn't much same work same pay same hours. Except Pike didn't offer a Pension. So whatever small .50 cents up to 4% company matched with the 401(k) didn't add up to much.

Now he's retired - Duke made a lot of money forcing all the small "High-Line" contractors to consolidate. Pike made a ton of money having a monopoly on the business in the Carolinas Georgia and Florida. Non-union wages never kept pace with even low inflation.

The people who didn't make a lot of money were the line crews, the guys in the bucket trucks who worked weekends and holidays so you could have electric service.

He'll get by he's 73 he has a little pension from Duke about $370 a month, social security and a rollover 401(k) from Pike if he lives cheap and inflation doesn't get worse and the market comes back, he should be able to make ends meet and not run out of money until he's 92. He hopes he's dies before that.

But as a black man I know the idea of paying for Braxton's student loan to attend Davidson or fund the education of a "clown" like Isaac Bailey just doesn't sit well.

No Bones about that.
