Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to email me, forward memos or comment about our Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe. Upcoming news will shock some of you!
Cars, pancakes, parking passes, cronyism, porn and a budget blown right out of the water. Let's just say FOI!
There is so much I really can't keep up with it all, yesterday the Charlotte Observer ran two stories both on Rodney Monroe.
First The Charlotte Observer gets in on the CMPD Reserve Unit battle with a story headlined, CMPD Changes Volunteer Policy and then CMS police want to keep authority to make arrests, which way down at the tail end of the article Chief Monroe details his support of banning cell phone use while driving and allowing private citizens to carry concealed weapons into restaurants that serve alcohol.
At long last a point I can support the Police Chief at least regarding concealed carry regulations, on banning cell phone use, sure that will work, just like Virginia has a ban on radar detectors.

Honestly Cedar, nothing about this man would shock me at this point.
He is arrogant, narcissistic and truly believes he is above the law because he is the "chief". He believes that the rules do not apply to him. Look at up in any psych one textbook.
The tragedy is, Curt Walton hired him.
And he seems to have gotten away with his crazy behavior wherever he has been.
He intimidates, bullies, threatens and totally abuses his "power" to get whatever he wants. You could also add spoiled to the list of adjectives describing him....and like a spoiled child, he has a tantrum if he doesn't get what he wants. And like a child, holds a grudge.
Why is he still here?
When is the public going to demand his resignation?
His fake numbers can't keep him safe from dismissal for long, or can they? One would hope not, or what does that say about us?
We would then be just as shallow and small minded.
Oh yes, what is coming will and should be shocking, if it is what I have heard.
The odd thing is Monroe supports the CMS cops and their arrest powers, now get this CMS cops are CMPD Reserves!
If the tables were turned on the racial bias within the department. The community would want the Chiefs head on a platter. Curt Walton had better act like a leader and get out of his hole before this Cities Police department is destroyed by this Chief, then it may be too late to stop the bleeding. I hope the City has an abundance of City attorney's to represent them in the future??? Everyone know the reputation DC Metro, New Orleans and Detroit PD's has had in the past. Enough said.

And though I hate to agree with Anonymous 5:07, I sadly agree that what he said is true....very true.
Someone needs to stop the absolute destruction of the CMPD, NOW! Or we will end up with the reputation of other PD's that are known for their less than stellar ethics and honesty.
