The body of a missing bank manager has been found in a rural part of the county, a sheriff spokesperson said.

Sheriff deputies had been searching this morning for Jeffrey Coley who had been reported missing by his wife Monday evening and were acting on a tip that he was in an area off Highway 218.

Officials said the area where the truck was found was not close to Coley’s home in Marshville.

According to Chief Deputy Ben Bailey, deputies responded to the area earlier in the day when someone spotted Coley’s truck behind a barn. Sheriff deputies used ATVs to search the rural area off the 9600 block of Highway 218 near the Anson County line, setting up a command post and in late afternoon came upon his body after searching for several hours .

Coley was a life-long resident of Marshville and had worked for the American Community Bank in Marshville for nearly 10 years.

Bailey said that they are treating this as a death investigation.

Other sources at American Community Bank report that Coley had a meeting with "people" from the bank on Monday. Suicide has been reported as the cause of death according to an email sent out by an ACM Charlotte offical to all employees.
