As a cold rain settles in over Charlotte, the reality of Jake's ugly Sunday afternoon at the hands of the New York Jets begins to take hold.
The Observers Tom Sorenson writes "Watching him was like watching a little kid crash his bike. Delhomme would fall and get up, fall and get up, fall and get up and fall again. " in the Monday edition of the local paper.
While Panther's management is spinning the finger injury into a "no choice" but to bench Jake decision, but clearly he's headed to the showers for the last time at least for this year.
Fox has no choice but to give the hook to Delhomme after being picked off four times by the Jets in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
But the pain goes deeper than just Jake, for the rain makes the old bones of Cedar Posts ache and long for sunny days when playoff hopes were alive and well.
But Sunday's loss is not a big deal after all it is only a game, just one game, and one season, one year lost forever.
