CMPD Ordered to Release Jackson 911 Tapes

As expected the big news coming down the chute is that CMPD must release all 911 tapes and police radio communications associated with former Officer Marcus Jackson.

The key word is ALL but the order may give police some wiggle room.

Still this is pretty much a shocking defeat for Police Chief Rodney Monroe.

“The recordings are public record and therefore subject to disclosure,” Superior Court Judge Richard Boner ruled after reviewing the tapes in private.

While the tapes may shed some light on the actions of former police officer Marcus Jackson it may not uncover the lack of oversight many are expecting.

But then you never know.

The Charlotte Observer's coverage is here and a copy of Judge Boner's order here.

I'd expect WSOC will have audio up on the 10 and 11 o'clock news tonight.

Will be interested to see who's heads will roll with this one if there is a lack of supervision.

The files that are crucial in showing rodneys complete lack of judgment are the personnel/disciplinary files of Marcus Jackson...and the IA files.

These files will show clearly the TWO suspensions that Jackson had during his one year probationary period.

In at least ONE of these suspensions, rodney intervened on Jacksons behalf and reduced his suspension from 15 days to 5 or 2 days after Jackson pleaded his case face to face with rodney.
Rodney IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN REDUCE SUSPENSIONS, SO IF IT WAS REDUCED, HE SIGNED OFF ON IT.

This is the file he desperately DOES NOT WANT MADE PUBLIC.

If City Council gets to see it, I think the public has a right to know what rodney did concerning these suspensions...as it is CRUCIAL in explaining his total lack of judgment and pushing his personal agenda of diversity.

THIS FILE IS THE FREAKING SMOKING GUN.

HOPEFULLY IT HAS NOT BEEN SANITIZED OR ANY PART OF IT REDACTED OR "messed with" IN ANY WAY.

I wouldn't put it past rodney, but quite a few people would have to be involved in a cover up of this size, and I would hope that the people in IA and others involved would not corrupt themselves for rodney in this matter.
