Charlotte's Bid to Host 2012 Democratic National Convention

The same civic minded people who brought you the "Trolley Line" now plan to bring the 2012 Democratic National Convention to Charlotte.

No expense will be spared, and no request will be to large, no demand to unreasonable because according to the new web site: Charlotte will benefit from an estimated "$150 million - $200 million potential economic impact" for the token cost of $40 million - $45 million.

The Charlotte in 2012 website offers a small glimmer of hope in that the logo is remarkably similar to that of Habitat for Humanity and The YMCA, so maybe the DNC will want to consider some place a little more original than Charlotte.
