BANGOR, Maine Authorities say a car rammed into the security gate outside Stephen King's home in Maine.

Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards says 25-year-old Renee Harris of Alton told police that an oncoming car veered into her lane about 9 a.m. Sunday. She swerved and crash into the custom-made black iron fence. No one was injured.

Police say the accident might have caused $100,000 in damage to the gate. King spokeswoman Marsha DeFilippo says he was not home at the time.

Cedar Posts:

I'd hardly call it a "security gate" its more decorative in nature and therefore the cost which depending on the damage could top about 10% of the amount above. However it is a very cool gate and fence complete with bats and spider webs.

Keep in mind the population of Bangor is about 35,000 and King is just another neighbor, though some would say just a little odd. On the other hand he is a huge supporter of little league and community arts.

He's probably a pretty normal guy. Except he has bloggers taking pictures of his gate.
