Look Out Here Comes Elevation Church

This past Sunday while driving down Charlotte's I-485 beltway, a woman in a red mini van tried to pass me on the right. When she realized she couldn't she promptly flipped me the one finger salute. Keep in mind I'm doing better than 70 in a 60 MPH zone the traffic is heavy.

She tried a second time only to be brake checked by the car ahead of her. The hysterics, contorted facial expressions and silent stream of four letter words sent my way were met with the priceless look of horror on her children's faces.

On her third attempt I eased off the gas enough to let Mrs. Road Rage swerve over into my lane, the red mini van rocking hard to one side, nearly turning over.

I had to laugh at the Christ is the Answer bumper sticker and the Elevation Church logo on the rear window of the dirty red mini van as it sped down the road.

I'm always amazed at the people who are Christians in name only and I have become increasingly weary of those who wear their religion on their sleeves.

I avoid at all cost doing business with people who 1) have a jesus fish on their card or advertising 2) have a sticker on their car that says real men love Jesus 3) say "have a blessed day." (although #3 tends to come from the colored church 4) a coexist sticker on their car-

But I am cool with USMC stickers or NRA stickers. If I see a panther PSL owner sticker I know I am dealing with the gullable-

I run a car lot in Charlotte OBTW

I saw a study recently that concluded that people with bumper stickers (even the "I'm a better human being than you" variety)are very territorial regarding their cars and prone to road rage. Religious messages were no exception. So give them a wide berth. Or brake check them, whichever.

I see these 'red flags' allllll the time in my line of work (I'm a real estate broker).

Cedar you should be concerned remember some of the most cunning serial killers where Christians. Take the BKT killer aka Dennie Rader, soccer coach, boy scout leader, bible study instructor and cold blooded killer.

Maybe that mini van driver is the next BTK?

Honestly, religion has become nothing more than a money maker and cause for serious divide in ALL of America.

I believe in a Higher Power, I do not believe in organized religion. They all seem to have some biased opinion towards others who don't fit their interpretation of whatever holy book they are reading.

I live by certain rules that I learned .... and refuse to accept there is only one "enlightened" religion.

You know you shouldn't be so quick to judge folks and I'll tell you why. Years ago there was a real Christian woman, she walked her talk and was genuine. Her sister however wasn't and one day this sister borrowed her vehicle and stated she would pick her niece and nephew up from school that day since she had to borrow her sisters car. Hers was in the shop for repairs. The sister behaved behind the wheel similar to your road warrior here in your story. Well, a newly converted believer who just so happened attended the same church and recognized the car and the sisters looked a lot alike. Apparently, the sister driving the car was angry, cussing, and flipping the bird. The new convert went and told everybody at this church what had happened and the church folks reprimanded the woman during the service in front of the whole congregation. Totally humiliating the innocent one. She too had a Jesus Saves bumper sticker on her car. Also, scriptures teaches he who is without sin cast the first stone. The behavior was not holy and those of us who behave and conduct our businesses by biblical principles should not be thrown in the whole pot with others. You never know the whole truth of who was driving that car with the church bumper sticker. Next time pray for the person(s). You just never know what's going on completely, but God knows!

Let me tell you something. Every time I see an Elevation Church sticker on a car, I cringe. Nobody in that congregation can drive worth a damn. Praise Jesus! Hail the Glory! Have a blessed day, my brother.

There used to be a thing called common courtesy... She may have had a family member in the hospital or worse, had already received word of a loved one's passing. If more people would make way for those trying to move faster, for whatever reason they may have, this would be a much better place. Most of the comments here aren't very Christian and I wonder about the author as well. When we take time to consider more than ourselves, more harmony is introduced into the world.

This has nothing to do with Elevation Church.

I hate the fact that someone somewhere has hurt you guys so bad that you feel you need to campaign against Christians. I live by a principle of ALWAYS give to the homeless. My reasoning...the bible says "...for some have attended angels...UNAWARE.". It sometimes annoys my wife because I don't refuse them. You never know a persons story. I have heard many sermons from Elevation. I don't attend the church but I get a lot out of the pastors teachings. I believe with all my heart that he is the real deal. Just as someone builds a business, he is building outlets for the kingdom of God and Gods glory. The Internet is the devils tool to try and destroy Gods work.
