Duke Flames Out at Madison Square Garden

St. John's Red Storm gave the Duke Blue Devils a Queens New York style "shellacking" Sunday afternoon in the hollowed ground of Madison Square Garden, beating the number 3 ranked and last years's NCAA National champion 93-78.

Duke down by 21 at the half.

The Red Storm who had lost the previous 3 games and stands at (12-8) surged to a 46-25 halftime lead and stumbled in the second giving up some ground as Duke hit 4 in a row from 3 point range at will.

The not often seen simultaneous face to the palm plant showed Sunday.

But St. John's closed the door with 2 minutes on the clock giving the Red Storm their a first win in eight years against the Blue Devils (19-2).
