I've endured endless tweets, emails and comments about how bad southerners drive when it snows south of the Mason Dixon line. You know that imaginary line drawn between the north where they like to say "this ain't nothing" and the south where two flakes make people scream "OMG Snow!"
So to all the Yankees who think we Southerns suck at winter driving and that only those from north of the Mason-Dixon are qualified to drive in snow, I offer the following proof Yankees are idiots.
This Feb. 1, 2011 photo shows a car that landed vertically into a snowbank after a multiple vehicle accident on Interstate 93 during a snow storm north of Salem, N.H. No one was injured. (AP Photo/The Eagle-Tribune, Tim Jean)
Only a Yankee and snow could do this, because down south it takes Budweiser.

We really don't drive well in the snow. It's because *we never had to learn*. This is a good thing, is it not? But still, I never saw a car do this.
Watch the Weather Channel or the evening news when there is a big winter storm anywhere. Nobody can drive on slick snow or wet ice. It is all one wreck after another. The whole nation needs to use some sense and shut down for snow and ice until the road crews can clear it or sand it. Make the employers share the repair, insurance. and personal injury costs for drivers going to or from work or traveling as a part of work and there would be very little exposure to extreme conditions. Essential personnel are a special case, but with no unnessary traffic it would all be better. Regional or state wide 'snow days.' Just the savings in the costs of wreck repairs would make it worthwhile.
