Thursday Odds and Ends

Just too much murder and mayhem, going on to really give it the attention it deserves.

East Charlotte has become a hell hole, that's no surprise. But a shoot out between a car and Ford pickup on Sunday left one guy fighting for his life, a battle he lost on Wednesday. This morning CMPD decided to release some of the details.

According to the police report, a passenger in Olman Mauricio Fuentes Portillo's car fired several times at a white Ford F-150, which had two men inside.

Then the passenger of the pickup returned fire, striking Portillo, once in the head.

Homicide number 13 is a stabbing victim according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers were in the Camden Forest Apartment complex for an unrelated call around 1 a.m. Officers heard the screams from a woman coming from a nearby apartment.

Officers gained entry to the apartment at 5714 Copper Creek Court around 1:14 a.m.
and found a man who had been stabbed multiple times as well as a woman who had cuts on her body. When MEDIC arrived, they pronounced the man dead at the scene.

No word on arrests in either case.

WBTV does a nice follow up to Cedar Posts story about the memorial badges issued by the department here. Cedar Posts original story is here.

Yeah - nothing bad ever happens in your world in South Charlotte. The teens are not using black tar heroin behind the Arboretum. Since working in South Charlotte the past 3 years, my vehicle has been broken into, someone tried to steal my purse, and there have been 2 robberies in our building. Never happened at my home in East Charlotte though.
