CMPD Blue Hornets Nearly Skunk The Charlotte Fire Department

Major kudos to the Blue Hornets for taking the first "Chief's Cup" 13-1 last Saturday. The event raised more the $1,600.00 to benfit CMPD and CFD officers and firefighters injured in the line of duty.

Blue Hornets Jeff Lang, Chuck Bolduc, Scott Sweatt, Zac Parnell, Brandon Ottelin, Jess Keating Stewart, Justin Spindler, Wes Propst, Brad Dunn, Justin Davies, Louis Rango Jr., Mitch Reedy, and Vaughn Pauls pose for a team photo with the trophy and some guy they keep calling Webster.

It was a great game! Good to see so many come out to support both these great departments and folks!

I think in future pictures, Monroe won't be smiling. Hopefully, though, the team will be smiling even bigger.

The purposes they say they're playing for are great. So, congratulations to the players.

Congratulations to dedicated team members.

Do any of you know the truth about the funding? Zinkann, Tufano, Cunningham, Monroe, Walton, Foxx, Council, and City Spokesperson will not give the public information about how much money goes in to the team, where it comes from, how it is spent, and how much money goes to charity.

There has been a change on the web site about who pays for the uniforms... still doesn't equate with information in other sources. Uniforms may turn out to be the tiniest part of the money at issue with the team.

Sad.

Sadder still, the team is only one part of a much larger financial picture.

Nice of you to throw the congrats in there before throwing in the conspiracy theory....

Yeah, uhhh, I guess you are a glass half empty kind of guy. My guess is the guys are getting paid to play, and fly first class everywhere they go, eat at 5 star restaurants and take world wide vacations.....I am guessing that is where all the money is going....

Aug. 13 & 14: I have information about some of that, but the truth is the answers to all the questions are PUBLIC INFORMATION.

Everyone needs to write in--not, of course, from CMPD computers, and ask for the information to be released. Failure for our government to do so is outrageous. Have all of your friends write in. Read what has happened already when people I know asked questions. If enough people demand a change, there will be a change.

So far, the CMPD is refusing to release information or discuss the raises, asset & forfeiture money, procedure for hiring & promotions, grant money totals and spending, and regular budget spending (unless you count the numbers sent by Capt. Cunningham, which really don't seem right). All of this information and more are PUBLIC information about PUBLIC funds, not anything for anyone's private use or discretion. Write.

Word is boys are doing pretty good, if anyone cares...

I would care if I knew at what cost.

For two months, CMPD has been stonewalling about how much of our money has gone in to a privately-held "charity" with the CMPD name on it, what the actual expenses are, and who the donors are... and oh, yeah, who is receiving charity funds. So far, we have "heard" of two extremely low donations that have come out of what were probably some very large amounts in.

If it turns out it costs $100 of public money to donate $1 to charity, would you still be happy? Write in and demand an accounting.
