Uptown Charlotte's Photographer in Residence Bill Fehr caught the killer and his pigeon victim Uptown. Bill explains: "I shot this image of a Red tailed hawk dispatching a pigeon after knocking it out of the sky, and then slamming it onto the sidewalk of the 200 block of N. College in front of the ITC."

Very symbolic picture of Hugh McColl and the uptown crowd vs the taxpayers and worker bees of the city.
Sweet! Would have loved to seen that happen. There's a hawk that presides over th am commute on 277...
Not sure if I accidentally sent you a small size of the shot, or if it compressed when you posted it. The original image is big, over 12mp, around 3,700 x 2,800. Anyway, the image appears a bit not as clear as the original. I was using my 2010 Nikon body with an old 55mm manual lens from the seventies.
The circle of life.....
Bill you sent the big file. Some how it resized when I uploaded it. I loaded again and now if you click on the image it is full size.
Of course full size is pretty graphic. Great shot!
Cedar, honestly, they cmpd had Detectives actually go to the vigil they were having for the girl whom they said tried to hang herself in the back of the squad car, and in the middle of the vigil they presented the family with the tape of what happened in the car.
OMG, could they have so little class and sense?
Such a freaking obvious ploy for publicity.
Wouldn't just taking them the tape to their home like PROFESSIONALS have been the way to handle it?
And why were there Homicide Detectives doing it?
So shockingly inappropriate.
Wow that's a morbid but great picture...probably will never be in the position to snap another one like it...

I am so sorry to hear this happened. But if you are waiting for CMPD to come out with any truth, you will be waiting until, well sadly until someone stands up to these corrupt politicians we have!
Cedar WHY have you not done a story on this?
SEE I TOLD YOU MONROE FOUND A WAY TO HIDE THE BODIES! tee hee hee
Great shot of the hawk. I was on Fayetteville St. Mall in Raleigh about 15 years ago, and the same thing happened. That guy came back, too, and hung out for weeks. Apparently he could not believe how dumb the city pigeons were, because he feasted on over a dozen before they finally figured to spread out and get into the trees whenever he showed up!
that's really ROMO at at command staff meeting....
Doctors go first, then my wife smokes it off the tee box into the mountain's morning fog. She's got 20 yards on them. I hit left just to the edge of the fairway about 50 yards behind the docs. lattice fence
