Gay Plate For South Carolina
Following in the footsteps of Maryland and, recently, Indiana, South Carolina will now offer a pro–LGBT equality license plate.
South Carolina's "Gay" tags cost $25, with half of that money going to the South Carolina Equality Foundation.
Following a protracted battle, Indiana recently began offering LGBT plates, with funds going to support a gay youth organization. Maryland was the first state to offer LGBT-related plates a few years back.
“The license plate was created as a way of allowing residents of South Carolina to publicly display their support of community, culture and policy that encourages and advocates for equal treatment for all South Carolinians, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity,” the group said in an email to supporters.
Cedar's Take: I'm all for it, takes the guess work out of why that girl in from of me has a buzz cut and eight dogs and is driving a Subaru with a rainbow flag.

Great now I can "steer clear of queers". Thanks South Carolina.
I get the buzz cut and the flag, but I dont understand the significance of the dogs.
The right to lifers plate in nc is much more offensive IMO.
I don't think any thing other than standard tags should be allowed.
They have just become another political advertising space....save it for the super pacs.
It took me awhile but the two rings I'll guess is the gay marriage issue.
I'm sure South Carolina will vote to approve same sex marriage at some point at least by 2087
yea that "choose life" stuff is really over the top........
I hope they make these required, every dike, fag and drag queen in South Carolina should have one.
