So...did the SHOT SPOTTER help with this homicide?? Did it stop it, did it help identify who did it? If it doesn't do any of these things, what exactly does it do?

And is that a cop in the photo? The unprofessional way he is dressed, it's hard to tell the cops from the thugs any more.

You are too funny...DB? That is original!
And just FYI, CMPD issues nice warm jackets, hats, gloves... All very professional POLICE UNIFORMS.

Wow, struck a nerve?

Agree with 5:12, sloppy and not professional... Just like CMPD under rodney.

But just another symptom.... Breakdown in discipline.

Yeah, all those thugs wearing 5.11 pants and a CMPD knit cap...how gangsta!!!!

The key word "uniform" is found in the word "uniformity". He's wearing the same outfit as the rest of the detectives and crime scene folks at CMPD. There's nothing unprofessional about it.

To 10:55. Uh..that IS an issued uniform. Just sayin.

Ha 5:12 has everyone worked up about the uniform.

Everyone was wearing the same winter gear.

The point of the photo, the corpse covered with a tarp in the cold rain and CMPD Officer checking over his notes seemed to make a very strong statement.

Life is cheap.

To Cedar: agreed . But when someone makes such an asinine comment, you have to call them out.

The Homicide folks have a shitty job with long hours. They need a comfortable "uniform" to work in for extended periods. If I remember correctly patrol was also issued 5.11 uniforms to wear in order to be more comfortable. Lets focus on the real issues within the department..

CMPD ain't my faves........but what do you want a detective, who wears a suit normally, wear when he is called out to a homicde in crappy weather? He has on gear issued kust for that.........issued gear.

What a bunch of babies.

Just because it is "issued" doesn't make it professional.

Under a different chief, it wouldn't be "issued".

Are you saying that Detectives, homicide or otherwise, work harder, longer hours than the Officers working shifts?

Should ALL members of CMPD wear this " uniform"..... Day shift included? If it is "authorized"... Why not?

I don't think it is too much to ask that a PD look
Professional and uniform.

Seriously, I feel so sorry for those homicide detectives, poor things..... Just not right they should be uncomfortable. Casual Fridays every day, for everyone!!!'

But you are right, who really cares?

I don't work there, just an observer, so I do not care.

To 12:05 pm If u don't work there, just STFU !!

Your damn straight homicide works HARDER and LONGER hours! 30 hours non stop is not unheard of.
BTW The 511 is common place around the country. Turn of Dragnet.

To read the absolutely ridiculous comments posted here really saddened me. I happen to have known the victim, and you are writing about how the police officer is dressed? There is a human being under that tarp in the photo. I'm really concerned about the level of self-centeredness and callousness I read in some of these sorts of comments these days.
