Lisa Pistolis Hooter's Waitress and Party Girl Charged With Murder In DUI Case

The crash that killed a man on Interstate 526 in Charleston was caused by a woman who was driving while intoxicated and while she was out on bail awaiting trial on a previous DUI charge.

Lisa Pistolis, 25, of Gemstone Boulevard, Hanahan, South Carolina is a Hooter's waitress and well known local party girl.

Police and media reports state that she was driving eastbound about 4:30 p.m. Sunday on I-526 when the Mustang she was driving drifted off the roadway into the grassy median in the center, North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

Pistolis tried to get back on the road but hit a sport utiltity vehicle.  The SUV also flipped several times in the wreck. Pistolis was charged with felony DUI involving death and felony DUI with great bodily injuries.

She was reportedly driving the same Mustang when she was arrested last year.

Some of the dozens of her FaceBook photos that show her party hard lifestyle.

So she is out on a prior DUI and still drinking behind the wheel?

That is f'd up.

1-20 years is the law, and I don't see much mercy from the courts in Charleston. She'll have at least 5 years to sober up and she'll come out fat and beat to hell by a bunch of dike queens.

Good luck princess your ass is toast. Such a waste.

Anonymous said...

I know her and she no princess just a hard core drunk.

All beauty, no brains apparently.

From the story on the P&C, I see she lives on my street...but I have no idea what house. Wish there was a way to find out!

Anonymous said...

She used to live on your street, now and for the next foreseeable future she is living behind bars. Hit her up in about ten years.

Anonymous said...

I know the man who passed as a result of her actions. He was a great guy with a wonderful brother and parents. He was a Charleston local liked by everyone who knew him. This girl will have to live with the guilt knowing she robbed the world of a wonderful person.

Anonymous said...

She will never see the inside of a prison cell that is how those with money roll.

Anonymous said...

I'd hit it!

Anonymous said...

She hasn't worked at Hooters for a long time.

Anonymous said...

Too fucking funny, everyone knows Lisa she gives it up faster than a dentist gives away suckers.

I am sure her daddy will bail her out.

Anonymous said...

Her Facebook page has been removed.

Anonymous said...

Good thing her Backpage ad is still up

Anonymous said...

She is still locked up. Doubt any one gives a shit. I dont think her family is from Charleston.

1 - 20 years gives the judge a lot of wiggle room. She might as well start serving it now. Show some remorse Lisa!

A dismissal of the 2012 charge would help but the judge will see that she was out on bail still drinking as "wonton disregard for the law''

20 years would set an example.

This is a tragic thing for all parties involved. To be trash talking so badly of someone is not right. This could have very been anybody at all. I know that most of you leaving these nasty comments about Lisa have most likely drank and drove in the past week whether it was leaving Wild Wing or some Hannahan bar. Take this as a wake up call that it could happen to anyone who decides to drink and drive. No matter if you only had 2 beers you are still under the influence.

Anonymous said...

Everyone is talking so bad of Pistolis, and I can see the outrage behind it. But remember that may the person without sin cast the first stone....don't any of you that have made the comments above have the right to judge Lisa about anything. I bet you have drank and drove and to talk about her sex life is just plain right low. Grow up, we are talking about a person here.

Anonymous said...

Meth, Coke, Crack, Booze when will young people learn this girl's life is over.

What is amazing is she is so high in her mug shot it is clear she doesn't care.

Anonymous said...

Such a tragedy. Someone has lost their life, and this girl's life is ruined forever. Two families will never be the same. This girl made a horrible mistake, but who hasn't made mistakes and bad decisions, especially at 24 years old?

Anonymous said...

To clarify, they're from VA, the cards will fall as they may. As a very close friend of the deceased, he wouldn't want people "louding" (for lack of a better word) pistolis out. Though I won't capitalize her name, let the law handle her future. One lost, one hospitalized, and a young woman's life potentially fu@#*!. Bottom line, the damage is done. We will never enjoy his warmth, his infectious smile, his genuine presence. STFU if you don't have something positive/productive to say. R.I.P. brutha

Anonymous said...

Sure we all make mistakes but this girl made her mistake last year and didn't read the memo, didn't answer the wake up call.

There is no excuse. She should spend the 20 years behind bars non in them.

Anonymous said...

My heart goes out to both families as this is a devastation to all. I in no way mean to diminish the poor choices that this young lady has made however we all make mistakes. Granted most of our mistakes don't generate a consequence this horrific. This poor man has lost his life. This poor young lady has potentially lost hers as well...why would anyone choose to kick her while she is probably at the lowest point in her life...maybe this is the bottom of the barrel for her and her life will change for the better after she faces the consequences. In the end, who are we to judge? I'm glad God didn't assign me that job or anyone of us on this earth for that matter. Just a thought...

You people are wrong this is not Lisa's fault! If this bartender dude had been wearing his seatbelt non of this would have happened and he would have still be kickin.

What a dumbass now he is dead and he has killed Lisa as well.

The benchmark in this case happened just last week when Samuel McCauley was sentenced in Charleston to 15 years for a similar crime. Fifteen years, however, is not sufficient in Pistolis' case, as she has that prior DUI arrest and should have known better. She deserved the entire 20 years, with no parole.
Oddly, the other driver charged in the second unrelated fatal accident on 526 on Monday, Arnold Williams, was given almost TWICE the bond of Pistolis-$100,000. This is wrong-at least he was not driving intoxicated and there was the mitigating factor of the prior wreck in the area. Why does he have almost double the bond?
I hope Pistolis is sentenced to serve a harsh 20 sentence in the most hellish facility in the state.

Anonymous said...

He was initially charged with Felony DUI but it was upgraded to reckless homicide. And to the poster claiming it wasn't her fault. You are an idiot. She had such a disregard for others that she CHOSE to drink and drive and her decision resulted in death. Don't even try to pass this off on the deseased, that's just sick.

Anonymous said...

So, I don't know any details other than what I read, but a couple things to keep in mind... On a first DUI offense, bail is like $1K or 10% of that if you use a bail bondsman. For $100, I'm fairly sure most people get out on bail after their 1st offense. It doesn't mean they're rich or spoiled... Plus, the legal BAC level is .08, or essentially 1 beer an hour. I'm also fairly sure that most who drink have driven with out waiting an hour and felt fine... Also, she was trying to gain control of the car after going into the median. I know plenty of people that have wrecked or driven off the road that weren't intoxicated... All that being said, I have no idea what her level of intoxication was or how she felt we she decided to drive or why she drifted into the median in the first place, but this was a horrible tragedy and horrible luck that she hit who she did when she accidentally over corrected.

Anonymous said...

Just more irresponsible behavior all around.

No excuses.

Anonymous said...

It's always the ones not driving under the influence that get hurt or die; never the ones that chose to get behind the wheel. Such a tragedy for the one that passed, and such a waste for the offender. Your life as you know it is over!

Anonymous said...

She will get to serve her sentence at the Graham Correctional Center in Columbia along with Mallory Hood.

Hood is in year 3 of a 18 year sentence. Her projected release date 2025.

Kinda sobering ain't it?

Anonymous said...

Samuel McCauley got a 10 year sentence for felony DUI death.

He'll get out in 2021

He had the perfect case for a light sentence no priors, excellent student, graduated from the Govnerors school of the arts, it didn't help.

He could be looking at 25 years. In that case 10 ain't bad.

Anonymous said...

Maybe she'll get parole if she gets on her knees and begs.

Anonymous said...

Beg on her knees? Wow that was low.

I doubt it would do any good.

Anonymous said...

She quit Hooters to dance at some club. Which might explain all the drinking and drug use.

Anonymous said...

Drinking and driving typically results in tragedy if you do it long enough. You would think that the first time she got busted would have taught her a life long lesson. Unfortunately for the gentleman killed it did not.

Anonymous said...

Had the guy been wearing a seatbelt she wouldn't be looking at 25 years. That has got to be a mitigating circumstance.

What good does 25 years in prison serve?

Anonymous said...

.......and HOW DO YOU KNOW HE WASN'T wearing his seat belt? His vehicle flipped MULTIPLE times. A violent impact can release your seatbelt. What if he had been on a motorcycle with full protective gear?? He would have no chance for survival either. AND he's a "dumbass" F.U. Who speaks about the dead that way???? Especially someone YOU don't know? His life speaks for its self, the joy he brought everyone around him. YES he was that guy. Your concern is "now lisa may lose her life" MAY being the word here. Serjei doesn't have a "maybe" her CHOICES took care of that for him. Let's all remember that yes we all make mistakes. I failed the 7th grade. That's a f-n mistake. Not facebook posting on Sunday "brunch and mimosas" then taking someones life, obviously she enjoyed her brunch. Being 25 and having keg stand pics posted for the world. Grow up. Pending DUI and then again drinking and driving. That's a DUMBASS!!!! Your welcome for the attention my response gave whatever idiot friend of that chick that wrote that for her. Now you go and grow up also.

Well put! Thank you

Again to clarify.... He has two outstanding brothers, an absolutely vibrant sister, and the most beautiful mother. One could only ever hope for a family as loving and close as his. To him and his... I love you all.

Lisa was un-moved by the first DUI arrest, she thought it was a fluke a real joke. Not so funny now is it Lisa?

Anonymous said...

How drunk was she? How long after the accident did they test her BAC?

Anonymous said...

Slut and a drunk one at that!

Anonymous said...

Morally, she is in the same league as any of these recent random shooters. She chose to irresponsibly operate a large metal projectile capable of inflicting grave harm in a careless manner by doing so intoxicated.
She will have two decades to get the point.
She won't be able to work at Hooters, but maybe the Waffle House will hire her.

Anonymous said...

from the looks of her hot lil bod with a touch of belly pudge I wonder if she is a mom?

If not she loves her craft beer.

Too bad she's gonna be wasting her hottness on a bunch of dikes and rug munchers.

Very well said January 31 at 3:31. I couldn't agree more. Funny how she her Facebook profile is now gone, but she wasn't too worried about it when it was up. Anyone could see all her partying pictures; what a complete dumbass. I hope the passenger in her car learns a lesson from this; whoever that was was stupid to get into the car with a drunk; then again, they probably were too. She deserves whatever she gets. My heart goes out to Serjei's family and friends; they didn't deserve to lose him in this tragic way.

Its amazing that someone has not gotten on here and deleted some of these posts.
For someone who knows Lisa:
She is a very kind hearted individual. She is a person who speaks highly of her family. Lisa loves to cook and loves her new puppy she got not too long ago. For someone that you all say is a spoiled rich girl who only parties, she has 3 jobs and goes to school. There were MULTIPLE occasions when people wanted her to party with them and she said no. I'm not saying what she did was right by far and yes there will be consequences that she will face and will continue to face for the rest of her life, but you people have to grow up. This is a tragedy on both sides. A man lost his life because a PERSON made an irresponsible decision. Any of you that are posting nasty comments should go ahead and make YOUR facebook public to all. Do not sit there and say that you have never driven intoxicated or posted pictures of you drinking. Just because you haven't gotten caught doesn't mean you aren't on the same level as her.
This is life changing for everybody involved. To the family who lost their loved one, I am praying for you.
For the people who are in charge of this site, you should really do some editing. The comments are sick and I cannot believe they are allowed on here.

Anonymous said...

She may be a kind-hearted individual, but a kind-hearted individual does not get behind the wheel of a car TWICE, knowing what could possibly happen. I have never gotten a DUI, nor will I ever because I was pulled over once when I was 23 after I had been drinking and wasn't intoxicated so I didn't get in any trouble, but that was enough of a a lesson for me. So yes, I can say, I never drive intoxicated, and I can also say, I have never post pictures of myself on FB drinking; that is just stupid. Before I read all the facts, I felt sorry for her, but now that I know she did this twice, she obviously doesn't care, or this is a cry for help. If it is, then great. Hopefully, she will learn from this. Too bad she took an innocent life in the process.

Anonymous said...

That is a tragedy right there...working three jobs to go to school, and now what will happen. I am not sure I totally agree with long sentences if a person is truly remorseful. If they are, and really want to change their lives, they should be able to speak to schools, etc. and tell their story so that others don't go down the same path. However, since this is second offense, one has to wonder how serious she took it the first time. Very sad.

Some hard facts about women doing hard time a little primer for Lisa's friends and family:

The person that goes in never comes out.

The change is amazingly fast.

Weight explodes because of the poor food and hours in your cell.

Everyone needs loving and before long she'll be hooked up with some dike to protect her.

In prison she'll be the minority.

It is Alice in Wonderland, wrong is right and right is wrong, gay is good, hetrosexual is bad, thin is out and fat is in.

Best thing she could do right now is gain 100 pounds, but she is not one to take advice so fuck her.

Drugs are everywhere and they are crap drugs like meth and acid. Drugs that can be mailed and smuggled.

She will die within six months of entering prison, not a physical death but her soul will die.

There is no dental care in prison, no white strips, no bleaching, no six month cleaning. They will pull your rotten teeth for you. But often it takes them so long to arrange it that you will pull them out yourself.

That pink lady razor she liked so much, forget it. Your legs your underarms, and that cooter all natural baby.

If she so much as looks the wrong way at a sister she'll meet a box cutter across the face.

Hit up the SC DOC web site and look at Mallory Hood. Someone tagged her last year. Yep when you hear "I'll cut you bitch" you better run.

And the outside changes too, the boyfriend who says he'll wait won't even you best friends stop coming to see you. Even you family forgets you are alive and you'll hate them, and everything they ever did wrong to you will seem emense.

Your world is an 8 by 5 cell and you buck mate is a pig with gas and diariha 24/7.

But after a while your mind is numb and it dosen't matter if it is 10 or 20 years. No body counts anyway.

Wow, how quick we are to pass judgement. I don't know anyone involved in this, but a coworker of mine who is acquainted with lisa tells me she is a recent csu grad with a degree. Maybe not the completely horrible person portrayed in these posts but I can't say, I never met her. Maybe we should let the judicial process takes it's course and let all the facts come out. If it's as the article says, she' ll get what she deserves. You know, judge not lest you be judged, innocent until proven guilty and all that. But that wouldn't be as fun as calling her names anonymously or blaming the deceased for not wearing a seat belt.

The whole time I was reading through these comment I kept telling myself, you're not going to respond, the more I read the harder it was for me to hold back. Serjei was/is my friend. I just started to hang out with him again at Skins games. Serjei and I went to high-school together and college. He moved away and Charleston was his true home. I was lucky enough to see Serjei the month before and we were making plans for a golf event in April. My drive down to Charleston was a sad one but full of conversations about the great times my friends and I had in school. We will miss Serjei very much.

Now to how disgusted I am to what I have read about my friend and about Lisa. No one is perfect, nor do we claim to be. Serjei lived every day with a smile on his face the same way the pics that I have seen of Lisa. No one wins no matter how you have been brought into this issue. How dare you talk that way about Serjei! How dare you all speak that way about Lisa! She made a horrible decision and now my friend is gone. She will have to pay for her mistakes and we will have to wait and see what the Judicial system decides. All of this crap about how easy she is and how its Serjei’s fault for not wearing a seatbelt (haven’t read that in reports yet) are ridiculous. I pray for Serjei and for his family but I also pray for Lisa and hers too!

What if she was your sister, daughter an or friend , she regrets everything and she has to live with that for the rest of her life , Jesus came for the sinners not the righteous , don't throw stones when you live in a glass house

Are that many people really saying killing someone on the road because you weren't paying attention (drinking or not), is a more forgivable crime that forgetting to put on your seatbelt? I didn't judge the girl for drinking and driving, we all make mistakes... but it's hard not to judge knowing the company she must've kept. Insensitive, illogical morons who blame the dead. It may have been a mistake, I don't think she deserves 20 years, but that doesn't mean she's "innocent". Idiots hang out with idiots.

In a year, 31% of teens died in an automobile accident and are found intoxicated and teenage drinking takes eight lives each day. Forty percent of fatal accidents involve teen drinkers. This accident has just padded the stats. There’s no need to argue about it. The court shall be the equalizer for the offender and the victim. The victim is probably asking for mere justice right now, so as the defendant having the chance to defend herself. Let’s try not to be judgmental here. The accident surely did not benefit either the victim or the offender, but it can sure benefit us in a way that we’ll get to learn from this tragedy.

What happened here is a tragedy that is affecting the lives of two families. An ACCIDENT occurred that took one man from this world physically and the other probably mentally and emotionally. Some of the comments on here are so unbearable to even and make me sad that people could be so heartless and grimey considering the circumstances. I personally know Lisa Pistolis and I cannot even imagine what she's feeling right now. What I do know about her and what anyone that knows hers knows that she is an amazing person, friend and sister. Lisa is finishing her degree, works 2 jobs and cares about everyone she is friends with. You cannot judge someone from some pictures that are merely snap-shots of instances in her life such as a wedding or pool party. There are no real facts being said because anyone that knows her would not have anything bad to say. Have you not ever had 2 beers over dinner and driven home? Have you not ever partied on a Sat night and driven home the next morning bc technically, if you were pulled over from anything from speeding to an ACCIDENT you could be charged with a DUI bc the alcohol would still be in your blood stream from the previous night? Also the losers on here making sexual comments are pathetic. No real man would say that, especially considering the circumstances and the fact that you prob don't even know her. Yall are real cool. There are 2 sides to every story and so much that is still unknown. I love Lisa vert much and will be continuing to pray for her and her family as well as the deceaseds.

There are 10,000 deaths a year due to drunk driving. We continue to pass laws that are punitive, punishing the driver AFTER someone has died. Our laws are not based in reality... they require drunk people to think rationally, when most of us realize that, once you are intoxicated, your ability to reason is diminished, or in the event of blackout, not functioning at all. Which begs the question: Why are we putting our safety in the hands of the inebriated when we could end DUI fatalities almost overnight by implementing technology that already exists? Make breathalyzer ignitions standard equipment - like seatbelts and airbags - in every car. No longer would your bartender have to babysit you, nor would you be denied your right to drink to intoxication. In fact, drink as much as you like as young as you like. You won't be able to start your car. Let's stop using this wonderful device as just another means to punish, and let's start using it to everyone's advantage to protect EVERYONE on the road. Technology can address this problem efficiently, and then all of those who spew hateful comments on blogs can perhaps find something more helpful to do.
