"He had a different way of looking at the land, the trouble at hand or any circumstance that might just come along .... and he measured his life in cedar posts and miles of barbed wire fence”.
1 down, 1000 to go!
There is nothing left to say about Monroe and his corrupt regime that has not been said.No one seems to care...yet.He is arrogant enough to think he can get away with his behavior forever. Will he and his partners in crime not tell the truth in federal court against overwhelming evidence?Time will tell....
what federal court? even these attorneys who had the marcus jackson evidence dead to rights and could have subpoenaed more evidence and testimony for everyone to see in open court & gotten decent awards--if for no other reason than their own greed--didn't do it. they settled for $90,000 and NOBODY REPORTED IT WHEN THEY DID.What do you think will be coming in federal court? What are you talking about? Some things are so slimy, they slip right through cracks.Nobody in this police department will stand up with truth or come forward with proof or even offer it up anonymously, so you will keep living in the regime with your empty talk, and so will everyone else.
Which attorneys? I thought the Marcus Jackson case got a 1 mil award against Jackson, but they did not think the victims would ever see the money. I wondered if they were awarded anything from CMPD. Did those victims get an award against CMPD in that case, or is this something else entirely?
They got a primarily useless award against Jackson and a $90,000 settlement against Monroe/city. Same case. Arnold and Smith lawyers. Last two women with civil cases open--they had gotten to Federal court and originally demanded jury trial. Jackson didn't show up, the judge ordered against him and it was reported a previous settlement had been reached with the city for $90,000. Someone ought to check to make sure Jackson didn't "fall out of his cot" on his head overnight." Tufano said there were no guarantees when asked about civil cases and Jackson testifying previously. (see Cedar's prior story and Wayne Power's interview with Tufano, including his obviously made-up statements about whether or not he has seen the personnel file).
Arnold and Smith let the city off the hook for $90,000? Really? Why would they do that? The 2 previous cases settled for $225,000 and $350,000 pretty quickly. Surely a jury would have awarded a ton more than that. Why didn't they let that go to trial along with Jackson? That is bad.
yes. exactly my point. why isn't anyone in the "press" asking that question? Someone should ask the plaintiffs and the Bar Association that question. The plaintiffs may be unaware of the amounts of the prior settlements or how easy it may have been to get more equitable settlements for them from the City/Monroe. Considering other attorneys that went before already did most of the work for them, there's not really a reason that makes sense. It may sound good for the record of the attorneys to say they got a million dollar settlement, but the plaintiffs are very unlikely to see it. It's advertising. Are there other negotiations on the table with these attorneys at the same time? It's not an accusation, but potentially an area to be vigilant.
It seems like a civil rights group could step up for them. Wasn't it said that the ethnic background of the victims was the reason they were chosen by Jackson? Because they would be unlikely to do anything due to immigration status or language barriers? If that was true and they did know, (for those same reasons)they wouldn't say anything about a low settlement either. You are right about the million dollar award. It sounds great for the attorneys record, the city was let off the hook, and the victims, victimized again, suffer quietly. But why?
I know someone who is not going to " suffer in silence".The duplicitous jackasses should listen to their advisors.A jury trial is coming.....I cannot wait to attend the trial, along with the media!Lying in Federal court is a very serious matter.Especially when there are emails and oral recordings.
lying in any trial is a very serious matter. so is lying on police reports. Which trial is coming up? Name, please.
are you just full of crap or is there actually a trial scheduled? what trial is it?
