From the Rock Hill Herald:
A Clover, SC woman accidentally shot herself in the jaw Wednesday afternoon while she was trying to kill a rat, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.
The 48-year-old woman told deputies she placed a .22 caliber revolver in her lap as she sat in a chair on her patio. When she leaned down to pick up cheese from the ground, the gun discharged, the report states.
The woman was treated at Piedmont Medical Center, where a doctor found the bullet lodged in her jaw, according to the report.
The woman was alone at the time of the accidental shooting and no charges were filed.
