I was working that night and will always remember it. I heard the call go out over the radio and the rush of units responding. At the time we didn’t know what had happened as it was initially broadcast as officers injured… Spent the rest of the night as one of the few officers “10-8” covering calls for three districts. It wasn’t unit we found out what happened that I recognized Officer Clark’s face… I had sat and joked with him in court the week prior. Even though I’ve left CMPD, I still sometimes think about that night.
