One More Bites The Dust as Suspect Adelbert Redo Kills Himself

This from WBTV: According to CMPD a suspect has died while Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were attempting to take him into custody, CMPD announced Monday. It is the second death this month of a suspect that was either in custody or in the process of being taken into custody.

Adelbert Redo, 32, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while officers were serving arrest warrants near 5600 Pine Street Monday morning, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Officers were serving warrants on charges of second-degree kidnapping, assault by pointing a gun, and assault on a female.

Around 7:30 a.m., CMPD officers tracked Redo to Pine Street because of an electronic monitor he was wearing. Redo had a pending murder charge as a result of a 2017 drunk driving crash where he killed one person and injured three others, including a state trooper who he was accused of dragging with his car during a traffic stop.

In December 2017, Redo was charged with second-degree murder, felony hit and run, two counts of felony serious injury by vehicle, driving while impaired and reckless driving. RELATED: Driver facing multiple charges after deadly crash in west Charlotte.

State records show he was previously charged with charges including assault on an officer and felony breaking and entering.

Officers Monday had located Reno when he exited the home and refused to comply with the commands given to him by officers, CMPD said.

"Before Redo could be taken into custody, he brandished a firearm and discharged it at himself," CMPD said in a released statement. "Redo was pronounced deceased on scene." Detectives with CMPD's homicide unit are conducting an investigation.

Redo is the second person to die in the midst of an encounter with CMPD officers this month.

Harold Easter succumbed to injuries sustained following a medical episode he experienced while in CMPD custody, police confirmed Sunday.

Sounds like another happy ending!

The mother trucker should have never been out on parole to commit another crime. Therefore no warrants and This would not have occurred. This falls on the magistrates and courts once again.

You have to understand these low life noogies are Vi Lyles' base. This is the sort of people she panders to the card carrying member of the "he was a good boy" and "he was just beginning to turn his life around" crowd.

They will never support a hard line on crime and are all in on a no cash bail pre trial system.

In other words as long as the democrats are in control our safety is at risk.

Couple of thoughts:

1. Kudos to Mr Redo for self-solving the problem. The Justice System and Society thanks you.

2. Kudos to Mr Redo for doing it himself instead of going for 'Suicide by Cop' or something. Or trying to take a bunch of others with him.

Hey. Give credit where it's due.

If we could just have these thugs implode whenever the cops show up we'd have Charlotte cleaned up in now time.

Is Brentley Vinson the same cop that started the riots a few years ago?

5 officers on leave... metro is already short. So no one is patrolling the city. Y’all can do what you’d like. Purge !!!!

Shon Sheffield is the biggest shit magnet on this damn department. He is always involved in our shit. Take a hint and go to Providence already.

2 in a week? Smells like a coverup.

Metro has been short on bodies for 20 years. That is where most the rookies get sent, and where most the shit happens. Its a recipe for disaster.

How does a person blow their head off...and its an in custody death? Sounds like a stretch by some blacks trying to make some money from CMPD.

If CMPD keeps getting sued, they will never get that senior officer pay raise. Thanks Marcus Jones!

NICE TO SEE THAT THE CITY HAS MONEY FOR A DE-ESCALATION TRAINING BUILDING AT THE ACADEMY BUT DOES NOT HAVE MONEY FOR US OR ADDITIONAL MANPOWER OUT HERE! WE CAN DO DE-ESCALATION ANYWHERE.

What is the status of the IA investigation of the Da Baby crap at his concert? And the pledge fund? Did Ed Williams get his money before others since he was the treasurer? Hopefully that is getting audited and will be included in upcoming report (if Ed Williams skipped the line, etc).
