Mecklenburg County Commissioner George Dunlap is unhappy again.
Apparently he doesn't like the idea of City County consolidation (something that some of the largest cities in the country have done to save taxpayers billions) so much so he's sending out angry memos.
How is it that we have elected officials acting like this?
Its ok you're an angry pig but if you spend your life grunting and squealing and rather than improve the situation you just grunt and squeal more, what's the point?
The commissioner clearly has issues perhaps an anger management intervention is needed or an election?
When you look at how much we spend on social programs in Mecklenburg County, it separates us from most of the state.
The number of programs in the state's $1.6 Billion annual budget is staggering. Mecklenburg County's share is massive and the inefficiencies in our county government is much of the problem.
Let's send George packing in November. That will make him as mad as a three-legged dog trying to bury a turd on an icy pond

He was the same way when he was an officer.
Remind him that he can design one of those 24 person panels to rule over the consolidation, and he would be all over it. Simply fear he is losing a grip on power. And to think once upon a time, it was black Chlt not wanting consolidation, thinking that the 'white' county would overpower them. Does Meck County have much unincorporated land left?
Wishful thinking that he's going somewhere. Not with the current demographics.
Dunlap is like the rest of the "colored" in Charlotte. They work the system scamming every dime they can get.
Its not just Patrick Cannon or Vilma Leake and her fake Doctor title or LaWanna Mayfield racist bs while applying for a paid position with the governors office or Ella's family just collecting the checks milking the system thinking since she's logged in she deserved to be paid.
This is old school Charlotte working the system get your BLT card and make a life on public assistance its the way of the colored.
Dunlap has an IQ that is surely sub-70.
George is the poster child for term limits. His large ego is writing checks his fat ass can't cash. And that leads to someone like Patrick Cannon who thinks he's above the law. And it's not just "Show me the money" Pat Cannon.
It's Vi Lyles and Myers Park Country Club.
It's Anthony Foxx making a left turn at Trade and Tryon then talking down to a rookie CMPD cop just doing his job trying to protect pedestrians.
It's Vilma Leake claiming her address is in her district (Its two vacant lots) and it's really an upscale apartment in SouthPark.
Its Dimple not paying her property taxes.
Its Greg Phipps using a zoom conference call to attend a city council meeting while he's driving to CLTCC meeting.
And so much more.
While I certainly agree Mr. Dunlap uses his power to his personal benefit and does not seem to be bothered by good ethics he is right on consolidation. Charlotte has a problem, the tax payer moved to the county or other counties leaving a lot of people who live off the public dime. Each year these receivers of the government become greater so the City of Charlotte must find more people to take from and thus you have their reason for wanting to have. Larger pool of people to rob of tax dollars. I hope Dunlap does block Charlotte….
7:49 agreed. Also, I didn't like his attitude, but he does have a point about media ethics. The media has no concern for reporting facts anymore.
