CMPD Takes More Stolen Guns Off The Streets (No Bueno)

From the local broadcast media station

After seizing a record amount of firearms last month, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) seized nine guns this past weekend during two separate incidents. The first incident happened on Friday when an officer responded to a traffic accident on I-77.

While the officer was at the scene, she observed a driver acting suspiciously and concealing items in a hoodie. The driver then fled the scene.

Officers later located the vehicle in the 700 block of North Graham Street and discovered all the occupants had concealed firearms. Two juveniles and two adults were arrested, all of whom were from Stanly County. Four firearms were seized, with three of them having been reported st
olen.

The second incident occurred on Sunday when a Dodge Charger was doing burnouts and donuts in plain view of officers at the intersection of Bland and Church streets.

Three of the Charger’s occupants were hanging out of passenger windows, and when police attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle fled.

While fleeing from police, the vehicle struck a wall on Morehead Street near I-277. The occupants then got out of the car and fled on foot.

All three occupants, two 19-year-olds and an 18-year-old, were apprehended.

Jordan Daniel Lozano-Coria and Javier Alejandro Martinez were released from jail on Sunday. Marvin Matamoros remains in custody in part due to violation of the conditions of his release on prior weapons charges.

Officers found five firearms inside the Charger, two of which were stolen, along with more than 90 grams of marijuana, multiple containers of THC liquid and multiple bags of THC candy.

CMPD seized the vehicle and are charging the three teens with multiple charges, including possession of a stolen firearm.

When is his President and everyone in Congress going to stand up to the NRA and pass meaningful gun control laws. This easy access for kids to have any guns is absolutely ridiculous. And this is right where I jog on Saturdays with my puppy. What if this had occurred when I was leaving the Gin Mill last week? I could either have been run over, or shot with an errant misfire from these scared kids trying to hide their contraband. I pay upmarket rent to live in SouthEnd, I don't want a Wild West show outside my apartment.

These guns need to be banned NOW!

I’m sorry. Please explain how “meaningful gun control laws” would have prevented this? I love the comment about scared kids!!! I am LMAO at you, and so is anyone else reading that comment. You say so much about yourself in that post…

Well, these kids were obviously scared for their lives if they ran from both scenes.
Meaningful gun control means no more school shootings, no more church ambushes like to day in Birmingham. At what point is enough, enough? We need to ban all guns from anyone who is not ina n active military role, and a certified, trained law enforcement professional. We have seen so many LE gun deaths due to undertrained police. Take their guns away too. Non-lethal force. Takedown aims, not torso aims. No militarization of our local peace forces.

Like it or not, there are hundreds of scared people, like myself, who live less than a block from that second scene. I know nobody who lives in my complex who owns a gun. There is no need to with the vibrant SouthEnd scene, security cameras, and controlled access to our rooftop pool and parking lot. It's not like a normal apartment complex in University City! We need regulations to make this stop. Until we make them illegal, and walk through a process of volunteer disarmament, the forced confiscation, we are all living on the edge.

What's next? Someone holding me up at gunpoint at the QT near Remount when I go to the Amazon dropbox?

11:14..."Well, these kids were obviously scared for their lives if they ran from both scenes", well you're obviously are a left-wing liberal idiot who goes to the Gin Mill, gets drunk and then drives home! Obviously, you probably take anti-anxiety medication! They run because they don't want to get caught! Who are you to explain anything about LEO unless you are one? Now SHUT UP and go support your president!

Damn it, we were suckered in 12:06!! Those posts were sarcasm and we missed it!! Bravo to you anonymous, you got us. No one is that stupid.

I do not drive drunk. I don't even own a car, which is why I live on the Blue Line. I lead a green example life, and if I need vehicle transportation, I use Lyft or Uber.

You all are so mean and judgy.

Nope, we aren’t biting again!!

Marvin Matamoros is a real genius. Convicted of shooting into an occupied building given a suspended sentence and 30 months probation June 23rd of last year. He'd didn't last 12 months. Just for fun he'll be back in court again on June 23rd a year later. We can only hope it is the same judge and he is order to serve the full sentence.

Man I hope y’all don’t bite on sarcasm & quality trolling like that out on the job.

What’s the Juneteenth body count going to be this year?

How come the media and Morgan Fogarty are not discussing the Massacre on Beatties Ford Road from 2020 where no suspects have been arrested yet?

Shouldn't Lt. Crum and the rest of the Homicide Unit be able to find an answer? I think we need more black people on the Homicide Unit that actually care about the deaths of black people. More cases would get solved that way.

I’m going with sarcasm again on @1857. Crazy thing is no one will apply for homicide anymore. They always accept based on merit rather than solely race, but if no one applies, what’re you to do? No one in their right mind would go work that schedule when you can make more money netflixing at the hidey hole. Also, how do make witnesses come forward? Don’t you think that in two years, there’s been a few efforts made?

2008, wrong again stupid honkie. If we had our people in representative roles in the homicide unit then more cases would get closed and these families would get closure. What is Metro Community Coordinators doing to solve this crime? Who is the LT over there that is managing this case? Enough is enough my people.

Now Lucille is some strong sarcasm. There were only a thousand people out there, and nobody's talking. They aren't talking to JJ or any other brother or sista. Everyone has seen the videos, nobody knows anything.

11:14am - Those are some deeply serious enabling issues you have going on. Very unhealthy. Find a good psychiatrist.

Arrest a couple of home boyz and the case is solved. Better yet have a resident (inmate) at the McFadden Hilton slip on some soap die then and tag him as the only shooter at the Juneteenth mass shooting. Case solved and Lucille is a happy boy.

Vaccines for kids is a thing now. Where’s that clot shot turd ?? Time for him to start whining !😆

Anonymous said...

The government acknowledges it has no studies of Covid vaccinations for kids that show decreased mortality or hospitalizations, nor does it have any long-term safety data, yet they not only approved the injections, they urge parents to give them.

This violates a lifetime of training and every standard of care doctors once held dear.

But if you want to inject your kids with the death jab, have at it. ☠️💉 Survival of the fittest at its best.

2 NFL players died unexpectedly yesterday from unknown causes. 1 retired 55 yo, 1 active 26 yo. SAD.

Angela Starnes died randomly, but it might have been some other stuff.

I’m old enough to remember when non-elderly people dying “suddenly” of “unknown” causes was not a daily news story. Thankfully I learned at a young age to to connect dots. How’s Bieber boy doing these days?

I like all the comments about “if there were only more black detectives in homicide there would be more solved cases” …. Yeah, well, why don’t you and Ms LucilleP both apply to become officers and make a difference… either step-up or shut-up,,,, or perhaps you could just start by policing your own people and stopping these things from happening in the first place.
