You should try driving this at night during a rain storm. Shadows and glare create imaginary travel lanes and its pretty scary when an 18-Wheeler thinks the three lanes are only two.

"We currently have contracted the striping for this section of roadway. We are waiting for the contractor to mobilize to the project."
As you can imagine or read between the lines this may be painted by next summer.

NCDOT has always been completely inept. Are they still trying to change the bulbs in all of the lamposts? Or have the Irish Travellers finally stripped all the wiring out of them? I stay away from Charlotte at night, so I wouldn't know.
If you want to know about lane stripping, try to commute on your bike across the Wilkinson Bridge on Highway 74 to Amazon. I have had a few close calls recently. Nobody respects the bike lanes there at all.
Have you seen the backup at the airport? Traffic tonight was backed up on Wilkinson in both directions at least a mile and all the way to I-85. Who is the idiot who gave the thumbs up for this idea.
