Bill Murray Sued for Divorce

The Charleston Post and Worrier having a slow news week elected to run the following story:

"Academy Award-nominated actor and comedian Bill Murray, who makes regular public appearances in the Lowcountry as a co-owner of the Charleston RiverDogs baseball team, is accused of drug addiction, abandonment, adultery and physically abusing his wife of more than 10 years, according to a recent court filing in Charleston County.

Jennifer Butler Murray cites the allegations as grounds for divorce, according to the complaint filed May 12 in family court. Records in the case were sealed Friday by a court order.

The Murrays married in 1997 and have four children, all minors."

I would think the P&C would leave the tabloid reporting to the Hollywood Press.... but I did turn up this photo which clearly shows Mr. Murray has an anger management issue.

As far as a drug problem well, he has been quoted as saying:

"This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff." - Caddyshack 1980

All I can say is ten years is a good run by today's standards.

My parents have been married 55 years, but we now live in a different world.

If you kept a car ten years you'd be considered fugal, my dad kept his 1992 Lexus until last year. His sedan had 290,000 miles and drove just fine.

If you work at the same place for more than five years, most people will think that you're a little odd. But, my grandfather worked for the same company for 45 years. By today's standards that would simply mean he was nerdy clerk in some back office with little motivation.

Truth is he started out sweeping shop floors and retired from the board of International Harvester (IH) 45 years later.

Bill and wife having split is hardly a news worthy item. As for the Murray children I suggest they will be just fine, as they have plenty of school age friends who have divorced parents as well.

In short the Murray Divorce is normal, move along now, there is nothing to see here.
