CHARLOTTE – One Person Injured After Fiery I-77 Accident.
Witnesses tell police that a car which crashed and caught fire Sunday on Interstate 77 was going at least 100 mph when the wreck occurred.
Highway patrol troopers say the driver tried to pass a car on the shoulder when it over-corrected and crashed. The driver, who was the only person inside, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers say alcohol was probably involved.
The driver has been charged with reckless driving, DWI and several other charges.

Now you might think, who in the world would pass on the shoulder of the interstate? Surely there are not that many morons out there. Well....
Cedar Posts snapped this cell phone photo (I was not driving) just outside of Orangeburg, South Carolina on I-26 Saturday Morning around 10:30. At the moment this photo was taken the driver must not have seen the disabled car about a 1/4 of a mile up ahead. He made it but it was really close as he forced two other cars to swerve to avoid him as he re-entered the road in a panic.
This by the way is the third time I've seen this stupid move on I-26 in as many months. Besides noticing the numerous crosses and flowers along the this stretch of interstate, I've also noticed that the number of disabled cars parked on the shoulder has increased dramatically as our economic slowdown drags on.
You would think the stupid people out there would notice as well.

Yes had someone stop me the other day and suggest I look a little deeper at Richmond.
Hummmm..... not yet ready to let the cat out of the bag, but... it might explain why the chief has been MIA.
