CMPD Promotes Several Officers to the Rank of Sargeant

We can't tell you who they are since the formal ceremony and announcement won't be until sometime in the future.

Just the same, major props to all those who made Sergeant last Thursday. You guys deserved it and the acknowledgement that normally comes with a promotion.

So why all the hush hush about the promotions? Back in the day this sort of thing was in the newspaper. I remember my grandfather had clippings from the News and Observer of every patrolman who worked under him. It was his way honoring those he trained at the old Charlotte Police Department.

Even after he retired he did that. I have a scrapbook of more than fifty promotions.

Just wondering.

CMPD releases the promotions to the media, they choose what to report.

Bullshit, Rob.

If monroe wanted this to get the attention it deserves, he would have had a ceremony with these promotions.

My guess is he wants to keep any ceremonies non existent
so as not to draw ANYattention to who gets promoted to Major or Deputy Chief.

Sargeants have been needed for MONTHS, and should have been promoted a while ago. But he knows that all hell is going to break loose if he promotes the people of diversity he has promised the promotions to.

This is the whole reason for the delays.

And he and Curt refuse to discuss why Foster is making so much more than any other Major, and if her present non official created position was actually posted for all to have a chance at.

And why Ricky Robbins and others who are supposed to have PART TIME positions rate having take home brand new Chargers......really, for part time employees? And it has to be part time, as people receiving retirement from cmpd are only allowed to work limited hours and make so much money, if they don't follow this, it is my understanding their retirement pay woud be in jeopardy so I am told.

Has there ever been a situation at cmpd before where so many have been promoted with so little fanfare? And what's up with The RAC position?

6:20 Nice rant and chocked full of all kinds of conspiracy theories. Had every thing but the black helicopters and the grassy knoll. Yes a promo ceremony would have been nice; maybe it will be later on?

Review the promotion process. Release the records.
Explain Executive Officer. Where is that in CMPD Directives? You remember CMPD Directives, right?

What's the policy for cars for part-time employees (who aren't FOR's--Friends of Rodney's)?

You are really naive.

Do you work at cmpd?

Have you met rodney?

Have you seen how he "works"?

Does he do anything above board without a personal agenda.

And finally, why not have the ceremony now? How long will it be? And why did it take so long for these promotions, and why weren't the Captains, Majors and Deputy Chiefs announced at the same time, as they usually are?

Not a "rant"' Dude, just questions and observations.

For those of you who read this blog and are members of the department, stop ranting about how unfair you are being treated and do something about it. If you believe you have been treated unfairly, and can substaniate that treatment, then go to HR. Otherwise, quit your bitching. If you hate how your being treated, quit. All you end up doing is poisoning others around you with your bad experiences and you could end up ruining somebody elses career before it even gets started. Grow up!

I think most people post here to express frustration with the "system" under rodney, and how they do not have any recourse.

They saw EARLY on how it works with rodney.

If you express your opinion, if you try to "do something about it"' you are shut down and shut out!

Proof? Don't even think about trying to get proof, everything is monitered at cmpd. Talk about "ruining careers". There have been careers ruined by people seeking to address the myriad of issues under rodney.

But perhaps you are right, perhaps we should all just STF up, guzzle the koolade, and be obedient automatons.

At least here what is going on at cmpd sees some light of day, it gets "spoken" out loud.

And grown ups can certainly decide for themselves what they think and believe, right? I don't think they are so easily "led".

Take your own advice, Buddy.

Right you are, preferential treatment for FOR's is very well known at cmpd, and documented, if one could access records, which one can't because one would be fired!

But the preferential treatment is so obvious that it has become somewhat of a joke at cmpd.

Cushy jobs, specal schools, undeserved promotions, new cars, made up jobs, boondoggles, etc., etc.

Life is good if you are a Friend of Rodney's, i.e. African American or an ass kissing "other".

And someone said quit if you don't like it? Do you realize how stupid a statement that is???

A House of Cards.....

And anyone that has enabled rodney to practice this type of preferential treatment and discrimination, or actually carried out his unwritten "wishes" with this, they will tumble right along with him!

Do you really think you can "poison" others minds by stating the Obvious? Come on......

Rodney, by his actions, has done more to poison cmpd and cause a real racial divide than this Blog could ever imagine doing. Get real!!

His name be pronounce Rot-knee.

Ax anybody.

maybe he's waiting to get all the promoted folks together for a yearbook picture with a professional photographer, 'cause there's plenty of money for that.

I love how anon 10:44 said "if you hate how you are being treated, quit".

Really, should that be an option?

It seems to be the ONLY option left at cmpd, thanks to rodney and his posse.

And there are so many who hate how the whole department is being dragged down in the mud....if they quit, there would not be many left!

There is very little dignity, honesty, integrity or ethics leftt at cmpd.....that is one "accomplishment" rodney has done
well.

Why is the promotion of CMPD officers not public record.
