Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department Stun Shields

Word coming out of Uptown Charlotte, is that last week the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department took delivery of several Electrified Riot Shields.

The Polycarbonate Ballistic shield reportedly has a stun capability. While the purchase is apparently in an effort to gear up for DNC 2012 it isn't clear if the Sheriff's Direct Action Response Team (D.A.R.T) will deploy the weapon inside the Mecklenburg County Jail as well.

The shields have the ability to stun protesters as well as the highly motivating electric arc sparking display points on the front to provide a visible deterrent.

Cedar Posts hears that at least 80 of the Electric Riot Shields have been ordered or delivered at a cost of nearly $1,000.00 each.

So what? MANY correctional facilities use these shields for prisoner control to enter the cells of combative and violent prisoners. Do you really think they will be allowed to just walk down the street shocking people? We live in Charlotte, run by a liberal city council and mayor...not happening.

10:28 Don't be a dumb ass. They can't use the shock shields in the jail. Close quaters trying to control an inmate it would never work. No my friend these are for street deployment and crowd control.

Shocking don't you think?

Folks,
May I suggest you make sure your tv is working, buy some popcorn and sit back and enjoy the extravaganza that will be the DNC And Medlock's disastrous handling of it.

Should be entertaining and fun!

When the riots break out it will be the Meck County Sheriff Deputies who save the day.

Cedar I heard much the same though I think the real number is around a dozen. I also heard no one was supposed to know. Mind me asking who is your source?
