Cedar's Take: They look the way cops used to look. But a sad reality is that other than for show and to present a certain image to the world those covers don't do much good when it comes to chasing bad guys. Notice the "old fashion" night stick? Hummm....

Probably that, as usual, it's all about APPEARANCES.
There are no standard uniform regs since rodney came,
people wear whatever they want.
The first sign of no real respect or discipline....
But for the DNC and the cameras, it's all professional spit and polish....as it should be all the time, professional.
When have you ever seen a Charlotte Cop wear a hat? Rainy days directing traffic maybe? That old guy on the square always looked snappy but I don't ever see cops in the queen city wearing hats.
So I agree it is all for show.
Who gives a crap if it is for show. its a show of respect for our nation's president like him or not. the cops looked good
Anon 11:29 I can promise you it is not a show of respect for the president. 90% of the CMPD do not care for the current president. They are having to wear those ridiculous hats because Rotney Monroe wants show off so he can get back to Washington D.C. Please take our chief D.C. We are tired of him too.
