According to several news outlets:
FBI Safe Streets Task Force members approached a house at 4515 Oakburn Drive about 6 a.m. when shots were fired at them. Larry McConneyhead, 47, is being held in Mecklenburg County Jail on federal charges related to the investigation that led the FBI to execute the warrant.

The Gastonia Police officer did not sustain life-threating injuries.
Two CMPD officers were a part of the operation, according to the FBI. One officer, Heather Loveridge, was directly involved in the shooting, according to CMPD. Loveridge, a patrol officer with the North Division, has been placed on administrative leave, a standard procedure anytime an officer discharges a weapon. The
North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and FBI are conducting a joint investigation into the shooting. CMPD's Internal Affairs Bureau will also contuct a separate but parallel investigation to determine whether CMPD policies were followed during the incident.
CMPD remains silent about the shooting but it’s pretty clear this was an unfortunate mishap.
CMPD has confirmed CMPD Officer Heather Loveridge, is on paid leave.
Apparently no suspects were shot, only the GPD Officer, during the sleepy time no knock warrant service.
Rumor is a CMPD Officer was in “the stack” when a weapon was discharged striking the GPD Officer who was thankfully wearing his tactical vest.
Conclusion - Loveridge may have accidentally shot the GPD Officer. His injury is not life threatening but maybe a career ending injury.
At Noon additional information was released that indicated McConneyhead was the target of the search warrant that was granted on information and belief that McConneyhead was involved in trafficking considerable amounts of cocaine.
Mr. McConneyhead has numerous priors for similar offenses in the past. Seems Loveridge was recruited on scene to be part of the stack to breach the garage which may had led to some sort of confusion once shots were fired. However the GPD Officer would have been clearly identifiable.
Another theory her weapon discharged accidentally.
