Killers Among Us - Mecklenburg County Courts DA and Sheriff Give Many Charged With Murder A Free Pass

Once the crime scene is cleared and the yellow tape removed, shortly after the headlines fade many of those arrested for their role in a homicide by CMPD are back on the streets. Several of those released on the no bail program instituted by Chief Judge Reagan Miller continue to commit crimes of violence. (See Tequando Cradle below)

Of the 72 murders where one or more persons have been charged in connection with a homicide, 20 of those are already back on the streets of Charlotte either awaiting trial or the charges have already been dismissed.

Ibn Ishamel Marshall and Anu'Bius Rashard Talib Smith were shot to death on February 27, 2019. On March 1, 2019 Furqan Bashir Grice and Anthony Goodson were both charged with murder in the double homicide.

Local Television News Station Report:

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were called to the area of Morehead St. and Grandin Rd. around 9 p.m. Police said one victim was found in a parking lot, and two more were found in a car. Investigators believed all three victims were shot in the 600 block of Grandin Road, but two stayed inside the vehicle while the other ran down the street.

Police said the victims were taken to the hospital where two of them died. There was no immediate word on the condition of the third person.

The men who died were identified as 17-year-old Ibn Marshall and 18-year-old Anu'bius Smith.

On Friday, CMPD announced that Furqan Grice, 18, and Anthony Goodson, 18, were arrested in connection with their murders. Grice was arrested Thursday and is facing two counts of first-degree murder. Goodson was arrested Friday and is in the process of being interviewed by homicide detectives.

Two guns and some marijuana were found at the crime scene. Neighbors said the area is normally peaceful. Now they're dealing with a lost sense of security.

Goodson would later be charged with 2 counts of First Degree Murder.

Anthony Goodson was released by Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden on August 3, 2019. Grice remains behind bars. Goodson is set to appear in court again on January 9, 2020.

Antonio Collins

Antonio Collins Courtesy MCSO
Collins has a history of violent crimes including prior weapons charges. Charged with first degree murder Collins is no longer listed as a guest of Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden.

From WBTV News:

Police have charged a man with murder one week after another man was found shot to death behind a public recreation center in southeast Charlotte.

The shooting happened on January 4 on the 5000 block of Idlewild Rd. North, on a path behind the Albemarle Road Recreation Center. Police were called to the scene around 7:30 a.m. after the victim - later identified as 21-year-old Shakier Henderson - was found dead on the path.

On Friday, police said 21-year-old Antonio Green Collins had been arrested and charged with murder in Henderson’s death. Officers did not say what evidence led to Collins being named as a suspect.

Based of MSCO records Collins was released in November and transferred to Piedmont Correctional Institute on November 13, 2019. It is unclear if the murder charges have been dropped but that seems to be the case.

CMPD said Goolsby was pronounced deceased at the scene. A total of eight people were inside the house when the shooting broke out. Other than the deceased, no one else was injured, they said.

Quantez Bazley

Quantez Bazley sent people running for cover back in October when he began shooting into South Charlotte shopping center.

From Local News:
Charlotte police have charged a man in the fatal shooting of another man after a fight in a shopping center in southwest Charlotte Thursday afternoon.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, detectives have charged 29-year-old Quantez Dmontrae Bazley for his involvement in the murder of 33-year-old Alonzo Cedric Parker.Police say the incident happened in a shopping center on Sharon Lakes Road Thursday around 4:40 p.m.

Officers arrived and found Parker with an apparent gunshot wound outside of a business complex. Parker was pronounced dead on the scene. The shooting reportedly happened after a fight.

Officers also say a bullet went through one of the businesses on the road. As a result of the continued investigation, Bazley was identified as a suspect in this case and warrants were issued for his arrest. On Friday, Bazley was arrested without incident, served with outstanding warrants and taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. Bazley has been charged with murder, shooting into occupied property causing serious bodily injury and shooting into occupied property.

Bazley was released fromGarry McFadden's Mecklenburg County residence hall on November 9, 2020. He too will be in court soon after the holidays.

Keep in mind these are for the most part not people suddenly at the mercy of the court because of a fatal accident, a bar room fight gone bad or defending their home or property. Many of those charged also face drug, weapons or robbery charges. While some may be wrong place wrong time others has a history of behavior that resulted in murder charges.

Others released include:

Tequndo Cradle and Damontez Corbitt

Tequndo Cradle was arrested and charged with the murder of Therrisha Steward on March 1, 2019 and then released on June 23, 2019. On November 21, 2019 Cradle was arrested for the assault of another woman.

Updated November 23, 2019: Cradle appeared in court on November 22, 2019 to enter a plea on the new charges of assault on a female, communicating threats and assault with a deadly weapon. Cradle was given a high enough bail that he should remain a guest of Garry's fun house until his December 12, 2019 court date on the homicide charge.

Damontez Corbitt was also arrested on March 1, 2019 and remains a "resident" in Sheriff McFadden's extended stay inn as of November 22, 2019. Corbitt is due in court on December 12, 2019 on the murder charge. MCSO shows Corbit vs the NCDOC Corbitt with 2 Ts. Errors like this are common at MSCO. (Updated)

Sorry no white folks have been granted bail. Of the 88 people arrested, charged or implicated in connection with this year's 100+ homicides only 6 are white. Four remain behind bars and two committed suicide.

In other news....
It's going to be good weather today! But make sure to stay indoors as you too may unintentionally run across one of these zombies prowling the streets.

I look at these people and try as I might I don't see their lives ever being any different in or out of jail. I know that sooner or later they will be arrested again or shot and left for dead in the street. These thugs and hood rats don't deserve a second chance. We are just kidding ourselves if we think they are just victims of racism and poverty.

Sad commentary for the state of the “community”.

5:40, truth based in facts does not equal racism. If you can't see that, you are part of the problem, not the solution. Put away your race card and work to make a fucking difference.

How does a violent coon like Tequndo Cradle get out on bail while charged with 1st Degree murder in the first place? He shot a woman multiple times and dumped her body on the side of the road like a pile of garbage. Why does that warrant release?

I'll tell you why, because it is a system run by coons and savages. They have no regard for human life no respect for woman and I'm speaking directly to Regan Miller and anyone who had supported him.

Anytime that blacks take over an organization, the organization is doomed to fail. Whether it is Gary McFadden or RoMo or Putney or Lyles.
