Democrats like Jeff Jackson Are Now Focused On Ending Qualified Immunity

Leave it to the Liberals and lunatics in the US House and Senate to re-introduce legislation that will end qualified immunity for law enforcement officers.

Cop haters Rep. Ayanna Pressley and fellow Massachusetts Democratic Sens. Ed Markey as well as Elizabeth Warren, are among the co-sponsors of the "Ending Qualified Immunity Act" that aims to abolish the legal protections for law enforcement officers from civil lawsuits.

North Carolina State Senator Jeff Jackson

North Carolina State Senator Jeff Jackson has already made clear his support of anti-police mandates and it is expected that he will use this legislation as a major selling point for his  election run for Richard Burr's US Senate seat in 2022.

"There will not be true racial justice until we end qualified immunity," Markey said in a statement.

Radical Leftist Pressley, first introduced the legislation last year after the death of George Floyd during an arrest by Minneapolis police that sparked civil unrest throughout the summer.

The legislation says the qualified immunity doctrine, should not provide police officers that brutalize or otherwise violate civil rights with defense or immunity from liability for their actions. In other words simply stated if you are even accused of violation of a criminal's civil rights you have no immunity.

If qualified immunity is eliminated, many more lawsuits against police could proceed to a trial or settlement, and police departments could have more trouble finding insurance carriers to pay out the uptick in settlements to victims of police brutality.

Other co-sponsors include Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Cori Bush, D-Mo.

Pressley, a member of the so-called progressive Squad, offered the legislation as the House is set to consider police reform legislation this month. The Democrats' "George Floyd Justice in Policing Act" passed the House last year but died in the GOP-led Senate.

"We must fully end the doctrine of qualified immunity which for too long has shielded law enforcement from accountability and denied recourse for the countless families robbed of their loved ones," Pressley said in a statement.

"There can be no justice without healing and accountability, and there can be no true accountability with qualified immunity," she said. "We must act with urgency. We must be bold and unapologetic in our pursuit of policy that increases police accountability and addresses the crisis of police brutality plaguing Black and brown communities."

Cedar's Take:

Republicans point out that this anti-police legislation is simply a continuation of the "defund the police" movement. Just another way to erode the value communities place on law enforcement officers.

Socialists like Jeff Jackson and Ayanna Pressley may get their wish to eliminate police and prisons altogether, since recruitment has become extremely difficult in the wake of last summer's endless democrat supported Black Lives Matter protests, riots and lootings. If you can't "defund the police" then make it impossible to recruit new officers.

Jeff Jackson is a turd his endless twitter rant about the "mostly peaceful" BLM protests last summer is why he's on the do not respond list in South District. Look up his comments on CMPD from last year.

Jackson won't make it past the primary. Without Eastern North Carolina he can't win.

Oh, they can recruit without immunity. Your police force will very closely resemble the other civil service functions. Imagine your CATS employee, or solid waste. The folks there for the steady check, 1.5% raise, early retirement, and very difficult to be fired from the job. Someone is always willing to take the check from Govco, just not the people who we need to protect us out there.

Amen brother. Completely agree.

Not like this is Jeff Jackson's idea even if he is a total pussy!

Pussy is ok that's what we are here for, he's a total cop hating liberal.

Supreme Court just shut down the qualified immunity changes. Stop spreading false lies on CedarPosts.

Anyone see the melee in the GasHouse? Trampoline park had a small riot of about 400 teens acting a damn fool. Anyone want to guess which ethnic group they are a part of?

7:01 Sorry to tell you but the SCOTUS ruling was only not to hear a single case. They made no ruling on the merits or constitutionality of Qualified Immunity. Which means if Jeff Jackson gets elected he'll make removing this protection from all officers his number one priority.

Can someone post the GasHouse video? I'd rather see that than Amy spreading eagle at CVOC.

If we lose qualified immunity, no one is going anywhere...everyone will just sheep it and receive their weekly check. We will be the new disgruntled CATS bus drivers or the City Water workers... so many people saying they going to quit but for some of us, there is no other thing. If everyone united and we all went on strike...now that would send shockwaves and make a statement. Let the city burn themselves for one day hell maybe that week and see how they respond to not having a police force.

We want change? It won't happen. Society has gone down the wrong hole and there is no getting back from this.

6:45 Amen Brother!

Yeah not like cops have a lot of property or ownership in anything. So when the City does not help out in a lawsuit, while the Officer was on duty, then you have to pay out of your own pocket or at least 25% of the lawsuit given to the Plaintiff. Getting sued sucks, especially when they want to garnish my Cadillac Obama got me. 25% 0f a 100,000.00 lawsuit rewarded to the shit bag you arrested. And that number is on the lower end. So-3:02 "Is losing qualified immunity a big deal?" no big deal if you do not get sued or you have a lot of money. Say you use force on a nice suspect and they determine its excessive. You get terminated. The suspect sues the city because they have deep pockets. The city rewards the suspect 200,000.00 instead of fighting it. Well you get to pay 25% of that reward to that nice suspect you arrested. The state will the garnish whatever money your making until that debt is paid. Not to much fun. Have a nice day.

It makes me sick when I see officers saying that its all they can do to be cops. There are 200 occupations that cops can go do. Its such a weak minded excuse which says alot about this department. I can't believe when cops at this place have their wives and brothers come work here. You know how it really is around this place.

So what time does the march for the Oklahoma City police shooting victim start? Is Braxton going to lead that one down Tryon? I just want to make sure I see it with my own eyes.

The riots are gonna be epic when they find Derek Chauvin not guilty. Even a mistrial will result in riots. This is a lose - lose and lose some more situation. Charlotte would be wise to come out and publicly decade a dusk to dawn curfew and ban protests telling the BLM crowd to go protest in Minnesota. This will be a shit show like no other. And I'm personally looking forward to cracking some heads.

Losing qualified immunity for Officers is the end of the road for Policing in America. If Congress removes it, you will be sued for anything, not just excessive force. There will be the one that claims you gave them carpal tunnel syndrome because the handcuffs were too tight. Then the one that has PTSD for pulling them over and citing them for a violation. Then the one you had to raise you voice to......you get the picture.

Civil lawsuits are frivolous, they may not win them all but it will cost you personally to defend yourself. Think of the lawyers that will specialize in a practice just to civilly sue Police Officers for doing their job. Don’t forget, juries love to award monies to their peers.

Food for thought.

Did the department “psychologist” quit? Saw there is a job opening for a new one.

Anyone with any good common horse sense would bail from the shit show that CMPD has become. I left years ago and haven't regretted it once. If you have less than 5 years on the job then do yourself a favor and get out now! It WILL get worse.

1030, what do you do now?

8:16...Yep, the shrink quit because they wouldn't let him go through the academy to become an officer.

Anonymous said...

I thought that Venus chick was the shrink. Does she still work for us?

I thought these New York transplant cops were loyal to each other. "We must also acknowledge the NYPD’s historical role at times in the mistreatment of communities of color,’ said the police department’s commissioner, Dermot Shea. Also if its so great in New York why are you here? Stop talking so much shit, no one around here cares.

633am

Does the NYPD commissioner get paid by the Mayor liberal DeBlasio? That's why. Fuck NYC and some of the scumrats that call that place a home. Such a flilthy place to raise a family.

I want to know how the wonder twins in Eastway Division are now running the show and giving orders? Ramsay is a CC...and I thought he wanted to quit and go do insurance sales?

Wonder twins? Funny

Y’all keep on toking and joking on here. We’re about to be invaded and our southern boarder is as open as a 7-11. Democrats and Soros is backing this crap. How do you think they all got matching “Biden let us in” T-Shirts?? Someone is making that and sending it to them. Who else is coming through that boarder???

In CFD news today. A Fire Recruit was fired that has passed every test and has passed every PT test. They didn’t feel he was giving his all. He is an ordained minister and gives his free time as a CMPD Chaplin. You can’t make this stuff up.

Anonymous said...

Maybe he should pray about it? See what ol J-Boo upstairs has to say about it?

The guy who did my wedding was ordained too. Got his ordainment shit off a website. He’s a decent dude, but I know he likes cocaine and chicks that can touch their toes from a standing position. I’ve also seen him take a shit between the doors that join hotel rooms, just for fun.

What I’m saying is, just because you’re ordained doesn’t mean you’re a saint. Maybe the guy wasn’t giving his all. Maybe he was acting a little “holier than thou” from time to time. Maybe he didn’t have enough “spirit?” Maybe he couldn’t pull the sword from the stone (I think that’s probably not a biblical reference, but you understand the puns I’m trying to make).

Or, maybe he got screwed by CFD. Like, molested. Like priest have been known to do. To little boys.

I’m just saying... not everyone who memorizes fairy tales, or gets a certificate on line, is perfect. Let’s hear the whole story.

Took a shit between the doors? I want to party with that dude. Yeah I am part Irish and part Italian. My parents hated their parents and that is why they hooked up. To piss them off. Anyways all our kind invaded this country, but at least they fought and built this country with hard work. This comrade shit is going to bite all of us in the ass. I'm going to bet we end up like Greece and then worse. Hide your money motherfuckers, the lib tards are going to share your life savings with those who don't work.

Oh no! Look out everybody! The angry non believer with a smart mouth is in the room. Atheism is soooooo cool! Tell us more about your anger and non beliefs! (@10:31). 😉😂😉

JJ is the kind of cop hater jerk who remotely "double locks" his Mercedes just so everyone knows his car alarm is armed. He'll opt for the CPI ultra security package because he's paranoid as truck but then condemn Ken Gill the CPI president as being racist.

Dumbass isn't hard to spot because his ego requires his car have a North Carolina Senate Plate.

If y'all have a chance to light him up please do "extend every courtesy" deserving of an elected official of his standing.
