CMPD Cracks Some Heads - Saying Enough Foolishness!

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officials say they are cracking down on groups recklessly riding bikes and motorized vehicles and causing "havoc on the streets of Charlotte."

On Sunday, the department says teams of officers across multiple divisions conducted a roundup to show a large presence in areas frequented by the groups. Often riding in groups of five to 30 people, the riders have been accused of causing harm to and endangering both drivers and pedestrians.

Most of the incidents have happened in Uptown, but similar
reports have been made across the city, police said.

The following is from CMPD's tweeter feed:

This morning Charlotte Mecklenburg Polices Department is providing case updates and recent enforcement of groups of individuals riding bikes and motorized vehicles recklessly in Charlotte.

On Sunday, April 17, 2022, Central Division officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service involving kids with bicycles. Cell phone footage shows the victim and suspects in a physical altercation.

Two suspects were armed. One suspect punched the victim in the back of the head and later fired bullets into the victim's car. The suspects’ names are Jermaine Walker Jr. and Makahi Alfayad - who's accused of pulling the trigger. Both suspects were arrested & charged.

A bullet lodged in the victim’s spine. He will likely be paralyzed for life. This is still an active investigation.

On Sunday, April 24, 2022, teams of officers across several divisions took part in a round-up, showing a large presence in areas where these bike groups frequent.

The focus of this operation plan was to focus on aggressive bike riders (bicycles, dirt bikes, and ATVs). The group has been endangering motorists and pedestrians throughout Charlotte. The group often rides in groups of 5-30 in various locations around the city.

Officers seized a total of two ATVs and two dirt bikes. Additionally, North Tryon Division, officers observed several subjects storing ATVs and dirt bikes in the shed behind a home and conducted a knock and talk.

One rider was identified as Joe Colombo Nguyen. (DOB 10/09/1997). Nguyen threw an unlit Molotov cocktail at officers and led them on a high speed pursuit, attempting to make the officers crash.

This issue is one that the Department takes *very* seriously. Officers are taking both proactive & reactive measures, taking dangerous offenders off the streets so they can no longer cause havoc on the streets of Charlotte.

CMPD also provided that Christopher Rivera, 20, was charged with felony fleeing to elude, and Marquis Massey, 23, was charged with felony fleeing, resisting an officer and reckless driving by CMPD officers on Sunday, according to authorities.

Police also arrested four underage teens and charged them with reckless driving last week after officers say they saw them riding scooters the wrong way and swerving in and out of traffic on North Tryon Street. One of the suspects was also charged with assault after allegedly pointing a realistic-looking airsoft gun at an upset driver, police said in a news release.

The teens' parents were also cited in connection with contributing to delinquency and neglect.
Interesting to note that Jermaine Walker Jr. was arrested on April 19, at 9:36 PM and released at 1:22 AM and Makahi Alfayad the shooter was arrested on April 21 at 10:41 AM and released the next day at 3:56 AM. His victim remains hospitalized.

But not everyone is happy with CMPD's effort to make Charlotte's streets safer:

Ryan Pitkin with Queen City Nerve tweeted:

"So basically police used an example of a time when someone on a bike shot someone in a car, a child on a scooter flashed an Airsoft gun, and someone on a dirt bike used a Molotov cocktail to say at the end, yes, we are going to criminalize wheelies"

It didn't take long for Pikin's effort to get 20 plus likes and some flack.."

"For all the good coming out of QCN, the founders continue to display a fair level of douchery. Making light of a victim with a bullet in his spine; a perp firing into a vehicle; a perp caught with kilos of marijuana and fentanyl. Oh, CMPD did seize a few bikes and ATVs" - Tweeted Johnnyx17x.,

Where did I “make light” of a shooting? Point that part out to me, Johnny. I’ll wait. What I said is they’re using one thing as an excuse to do a wholly unrelated thing: making a tragic shooting into a reason to seize bikes from kids who do wheelies in Uptown." Retorted Pitkin.

Then he doubles down:

Hah, I've met a lot of these kids. They're no gang members. Not even close. Keep believing what the police want you to believe, though. They've never had any reason to lie to the public.

CP's Take: Yeah they look like fine young gentlemen to me SMDH.

But you tell me, just kids as Pitkin says or felons heading for a life of crime and eventual sudden violent end to their lives?

Cedar Update: Nguyen was released by MCSO Wednesday night after a court hearing on the 11 charges he is facing.

Yesterday afternoon Jermaine Walker was re-arrested and processed on the additional charges of AWDWIKISI and DISCHARGING FIREARM INTO OCCUPIED PROPERTY. He'll have a bond hearing later this afternoon.

Kids? Is he for real? I've met a lot of these kids they're no gang members?

Yeah Makahi Alfayad looks like a kid he also tried to murder someone and this is not his first arrest.

Ryan is an idiot still drinking the BLM Kool-Aid and not yet recovered from his PTSD encounter with getting lit-up by CRU guys 2 years ago.

At the time all big talk about lawsuits and getting all those cops fired.

Now he is equating kids on bicycles with dirt bikes and ATVs threatening drivers and pedestrians and most if not all without insurance or obeying any traffic laws.

Ryan and his BFF, Justin, are both living in a fantasy land. All made of unicorns and rainbows. Let something happen to either and there would be a total meltdown. Both are two useful idiots for the moment

BLM!

About time! I know there is a small group of BLM sign carrying CRT believers who scream ACAB and Fuck-12 in Charlotte. These are the same liberals who cry about hate speech and cars parked in the bike lanes.

These members of the "everything is racist" crowd are the same clowns who complain that Madison Cawthorn wasn't arrested at the airport for having a legally owned gun in his carryon luggage.

In Charlotte its people like Ryan and his BFF Justin that are the cheerleaders of a very very small segment of Charlotte's population.

The rest of us respect the law and expect others to do the same.

Time to take back our streets!

Nguyen "Joe Colombo" was released yesterday evening. Kinda amazed that Jermaine Walker is still sucking in air since he's the one who gave up the shooter Makahi Alfayad. It won't take long Walker won't be walking anymore.

How many years will Colombo Joe serve for this? because if he gets what I expect, I need to start moving masses of drugs, because this moron doesn't know how to keep a profile low. Poor kid grew up playing GTA and thinks this is some sort of game. Unfortunately, he gets another chance, and will just peddle enough trash to pay an attorney to get him out of this. But I bet his parents are actually pissed, unlike the other perps.

Where's Molly Grantham on this story? Aren't these the kids from her neighborhood joy riding?

Screw it, I'm going to start pushing weight myself, since we are all going to be paying for Lawyers and Dentists student loan forgiveness. I paid my UNCC Criminal Justice debt off, not my fault you paid big money for a low-end Campbell law degree and can't make progress paying it back. Or spent big to get an art degree from a well know art institute like Wingate.

Country has so much wrong, in so many places.

We have watched these clowns run amok for the past three years. None of this is surprising (except Charlotte City Council's silence ditto the Mayor and BOCC) given the lack of traffic enforcement.

If you don't enforce the basic traffic laws eventually you will reach a level of anarchy you can not control.

We are there, for example use of golf carts on public streets in Charlotte is against the law and its stupid. No helmets, no seat belts, no airbags, no insurance and no driver's license. Yet in Ballantyne there are at least a dozen personally owned golf carts that ride to and from the club house or pool daily. Some driven by kids others by adults most are "geared" for road use and can reach speeds higher than those used on golf courses.

This is nuts, but CMPD will do nothing until we have a tragedy just google "child killed in golf cart accident".

These ATV and Dirt Bikes are not "street legal" and it is against the law to operate them on the street for good reason.

But to hear Ryan Pitkin tell it enforcing the law is racist. Folks that's crazy.

More racist hate from Cedar Mouth and his boot lickers at CMPD. KKK much Cedar?

Anonymous said...

I'm trying to figure out what is racist about Cedar Posts? In particular this post? Beyond the fact that all the suspects are black except and I'm guessing that Nguyen is Asian?

Is 1:47 just upset that these thugs are all people of color. Couldn't CMPD arrest some white kids just to appease the BLM crowd? Maybe Ryan Pisskim could tweet about the need to arrest white kids on dirt bikes?

So news flash for Pisskim and 1:47 the reason all the perps arrested are black is because all the perps doing the crime happened to be black.

PERIOD!

It was fun rounding up these thugs on Sunday. It’s amazing what can be done when the department allows you to do real police work.

Thank You 6:35 sorry you had to deal with a runner glad everything worked out.

So another assault happened in Uptown. Police need to start cracking some heads.

Crime is out of control and the DA and woke judges are fully responsible. The Mayor is about as worthless as tits on a mule.

1835hours,

The mere fact that you think "real police work" is arresting teenagers on scooters shows how far CMPD has fallen. Come do a ride along with us over in Metro, little boy. We definitely need the warm bodies since Chief wants to fire all of our guys. Who gives a damn about kids on scooters in uptown? We have shootings and gangs on the corner of Lasalle and BFR.

Anonymous said...

Ha, the big D Metro guy chimes in. Sorry dude, Metro isn’t what it once was. You aren’t even in the top 3 violent Divisions.

Anonymous said...

We need to drop the protection of juvenile offenders and criminally prosecute the custodial parents. We need to make their faces known and the judges need to lock up violent offenders.

The surest way to prevent recidivism among youthful offenders is a bullet between the eyes.

Maybe if a couple of these victims was carrying we'd not need a convo about how racist police are in Charlotte.

Didn't one of these "kids doing wheelies" get hit by a car not long ago and when the driver got out of his car to check on the kid a gang of thugs beat up the driver and stole his car?

Or was that is Chicago? or New York?

Here's a laugh CMPD also arrested Joe Colombo's brother John Nguyen on charges of felony trafficking of marijuana and felony trafficking of opium or heroin. The magistrate set his bail at $10,000 unsecured for the weed and $25,000 unsecured for the heroin. Unsecured! Man I'm in the wrong business!

Which nail salon or massage parlor is John and Joe running the money through? Not Mr G's Food Mart, not the Dominican Braid Boutique, but something close to that.

Charlotte is getting closer to an episode of The Wire everyday.

@11:19

I’ve arrested more people in my 5 years at CMPD then you’ll arrest in your entire career. Sit down. You must be Alec Mullis, thinking your shit don’t stink.

5 years…. Lolol your balls should be dropping soon, at least

A quick google search of "uptown gang attack" and I get three stories in the last week. The guy who was shot and paralyzed, the guy who was chased down by kids on bikes while riding his "onewheel" and the guy who clipped a kid with his car, then got out of his car to make sure the kid was ok and was promptly attacked.

And Ryan Pitkin and his butt buddy Justin want to spew hate on CMPD for arresting these punks?

OK game on MoFos! I'm happy to make a point of picking up a copy of the Queen City Nerve every chance I get. In fact I'm going to boost their circulation numbers by picking up as many of these "free" cat box liners as I can find every week. In fact maybe all of CMPD should start posting photos of themselves "reading" QCN while changing the paper in the birdcage, changing the oil in the truck, or the above mentioned cat box liner. Should be great for community relegations.

@7:49pm

Hey why don’t you go do something productive and cease to exist. Thanks.

You must be very miserable with your life and dread going to work everyday. I feel sorry for you.

Anonymous said...

@2253…. Oh I did. I busted my ass for many years leading the numbers in various locations and blah blah blah. Had my own balls drop and woke up and realized the hard way that none of it matters when your leadership and elected officials are brainwashed. So I found a better job in a better place where the grass is actually greener. You’ll get there one day as well, hopefully before they stomp out your light. But don’t be fooled into convincing yourself that you’re doing a better job than those who have come before you, because I can guarantee you that you’re not. Especially if your experience consists of only the last 5 years of the job. Especially since the last 5 years have only seen the city and department sink to new lows. Not something to brag about.

11:34... I don't dread getting paid to do nothing! I getting paid more than you and you think that you are actually making a difference, idiot!

Central Division is bragging about getting arrests? 90% of the division is white people..and they have money. You may respond to a shooting at 2am, but that's it.

LFAs, burglaries, noise complaints, and homeless people. That is nothing to brag about and you will never go federal in Central. Its a retirement division. That guy bragging is insane to the max.

See you in The Rock.

Anonymous said...

7:34

Damn I didn’t realize that going federal was the epitome of all law enforcement. I’d rather work the streets then push paper for the feds who are more worried about “white nationalism” then the real threats facing our country.

Metro guys need to check their egos. Only thing they have lead the city in past few years is officers getting fired for royal screw ups. As Metro Gentrified Steel Creek has been leading the city in shit.
